You are bidding on a 1998 Corvette. It is artic white with many extras including the most exotic feature, lamborghini doors! I'll start with description of the motor- It is original LS1 245 HP stock engine with 100443 miles. No modifications have been made to the motor with the exception of a K&N filter, NGK spark plugs and MSD wires. I just put in a new battery. Last July I replaced the oil sending unit which controls the dash gauge. It worked for 4 days and quit. According to corvette forum there were several batches that were bad and although dealership said they would replace the part, it was to much work to tear it down again. No I don't know how fast it goes. It is a show car. The air conditioner works but the compressor O-ring leaks and according to sources it is quite a lot of work to just change the o-ring. Never used it so I never fixed it. Interior- custom seats with leather inserts and vinyl outsides to avoid wrinkles (as these are show deductions) If you are familiar with C-5's they have a defect in the bearings of the seats wearing out causing them to rock back and forth. This has been fixed, these seats do not rock. The HVAC control also has a history of lights fading in and out, this also has been fixed all controls work. The #2 and #5 light just burnt out on the stereo. The rear of the car has a flashy stainless steel insert of the state of Texas which is where the previous owner lived. It is bolted in the car so I happily placed a nice OU sticker on it! It has chrome roll bars, cargo net, hatch window shade, front window shade. The armrest of the car has normal wear (wrinkled on both sides where glue did not hold) Lots of problems with the actuator controls which controls air flow from floor to vents, gears wrere cracked inside houseing so replaced with 2 brand new ones!(and a major project) New switch for fuel door. Exterior- Yes lamborghini doors by GT Factory. They still open the regular way, but only about half the distance. Chrome wagon wheels with custom inserts, painted calipers, Chrome pipe tips with a centered corvette emblem (often overlooked) original exhaust. Rocker panels on the bottom. Mirrors on the car for some reason were screwed down so they do not fold in. This was not disclosed to me when I bought it, don't know why they did it. However, all functions electronically still work on the mirrors. -Paint- very shiny but original. does have touch up spots and a scratch on the hood that no judge has ever noticed. Around the rear fender wells some of the clear coat is starting to flake. The Targa top is in poor conditon. It fits great and does not leak but it looks like crap, the acrylic is coming off and looks like someone attempted to buff it out on one spot. I believe it is about 500 to get a new one with trade in. I did not display it in shows so never fixed it. Not sure how old tires are but I have owned the car for 3 years and it could use some.
