Vehicle Detail
1998 Suzuki 1400 Intruder VS1400GLP with 30,166 miles on the odometer. This is a bitchen bike, with some top of the line accessories such as Vance & Hines exhaust, Jardine forward controls, Leatherlyke saddle bags, and Kuryakyn grips. Also has Kuryakyn bullet running lights and front turn signals. It also has a windshield, but it has turned yellow with age. I believe it is Memphis Shades, but don’t buy the bike expecting that type of windshield because I am not sure. That’s the good, this is the bad: It has not been started in about 8 months. The battery is dead and I can’t get enough charge in it to kick the bike over. It was running great last time it was ridden. The only other issue is the rear brake is “dragging”. That’s how it was described to me, and it feels as if the brake doesn’t fully release. I bought a master cylinder rebuild kit, but haven’t had the chance to do that (kit will be included with bike sale). And the ugly: Yep, the pink vinyl. That is vinyl and not paint. It will peel off, I did the rear fender and you can see the red and black original colors. My brother’s wife did that… I look at it and scratch my head, too. There are some scratches in the paint. The only big scratch I know of is on the side of the tank (I think left side) where another bike fell over against it in a trailer. There is a small dent and deep scratch from the handle bar of the other bike. The "grey" you see on the tank is sticky residu from the vinyl, not paint damage. Title is clear and in my name. Registration is current until June 2011. So, here is the story of this bike: My dad bought this bike from the original owner (his boss) back in 2002. My dad’s boss is the one who put all the accessories on it when it was purchased new. In 07 my dad bought a new bike and sold this to my brother for his wife (hence the pink vinyl she put on it… yea, I know you’re still scratching your head over that pink…). The reason she stopped riding it was early last year my brother was diagnosed with cancer, and a majority of their time was spent in hospitals and getting treatments, etc. He lost his battle in late September and I have been helping her sell off things she no longer needs. We could not find the title, so we transferred it into my name and got a new title in my name so it was easier to sell. I planned on getting all that pink crap off and putting in a new battery, rebuilding the rear master cylinder and selling it, but between my two jobs and a 5 month old baby, it hasn’t happened. Because of the work that it needs, reserve is set below half of Blue Book for a quick sale and so I can get the money to my brother’s wife. Any questions feel free to ask! Thanx! The bike is on a lift and the surface area of the seat wasn't in my line of sight and I forgot all about it until tonight when I noticed it!!!
