Vehicle Detail

A living(room) tribute to the venerable 911. The well respected fabrication team at Paransky Machinists and Mechanics has make available for sale the pictured engine/coffee table. This engine started life as a 1967 2.0 liter engine with the then standard 40 IDA 3C1 carbureators and to this day still has them. We retained this engine in storage (under watchful and admiring eyes) for about 20 years. Being far too attractive to just sit on the shelf, we decided to create the proverbial center piece for some fortunate's living room or den. Knowing that this was (some time ago) a real running engine, it was decided that it might be advisable to allow it to remain in the fully assembled mode just as it was some 40+ years ago. So, we dusted it off, cleaned it carefully and proceeded with an "over the top" cosmetic overhaul. Bear in mind, this is not an empty shell. This is a complete engine with all the internals fully intact. As termed in the industry, a complete unit, "fan to fllywheel". In fact, including the fan and flywheel. The sheet metal parts were removed, glass-beaded, primed in self-etch primer and final finished. Virtually all the fasteners (nuts, bolts, washers, etc.) have been replaced with polished stainless steel hardware appropriate to purpose. The "feet" (adjustable for leveling) were fabricated in house by our craftsmen. One will note that the stabilizers on the fan end of the engine are of recycled cam chain tensioners from the era of the engine. At the flywheel end are a pair of finely machined supports, lower for the "feet" upper to carry the glass frame supports. Incidentally the glass is beveled and tempered. To carry the top, an aluminum frame ws fabricated using tiny aircraft rivets and bonded to the tempered glass. Although not particularly apparent in the photos, nearly all (except some very small) parts that are black are done in that oh-so-businesslike black. Also please catch those little stubby exhaust stacks meant to be reminscent of WWII fighter plane exhausts. there are several interesting minor and major details if one would take time to study the photos. This is a very dramatic piece of furniture, assuredly the center of conversation amongst "the guys". The lucky purchaser had better round up a big bunch of friends or a forklift 'cause this puppy is heavy, very heavy. Check the width of your doors and hope that no stairs are involved. Should any further questions arise, please feel free to ring me up any 'ol time. Danny Paransky Ph#865-660-8860 Dimensions are 30 1/4"wx24 1/4"dx23"h. Miles stated are approximate.
