Vehicle Detail
1974 Triumph TR5MX up for auction at no reserve. This bike does not have a title, it was intended as an off road model only, therefore it never had to be titled. This bike does not run, it has very low compression. The motor kicks through and generates spark, there just isn’t enough compression to get it going. The motor will need a top end job. A new piston and rings, possibly valve guides and valves, and a new head gasket. We do not stock a lot of BSA parts, so we decided not to tear into the top end. This Triumph is essentially a BSA B50 that was sold under the Triumph badge after BSA folded. It is not identical to a B50, but very similar. We cleaned this bike up and rebuilt the carburetor. This bike is fairly complete, and will sell with the stock fenders pictured below. We are missing some parts for the air box assembly. The frame needs proper fork stops, as you can see the tank has a dent where the upper triple hit it; since there are no proper stops for the forks. This bike could be restored for competition in AHRMA vintage motocross. This is a great starting point for a fixer upper putt around bike. This bike is sold as is. We will ship this bike worldwide. If shipping internationally the bike will be required to be sent in a treated and certified wood crate. This crate will cost approx $360 to have built. If the bike is shipped within the USA, we will strap it down to a pallet and send it by the cheapest option we can get through freight quote dot com. The pallet will cost approx $55 to have built. All shipping and packing costs are the responsibility of the winning bidder. The winning bidder can pick this bike up in person, but the bike must be picked up within three weeks from auction end. If you have a loading dock or fork lift available, it will reduce the freight costs.
