Thanks for looking...This is a NO RESERVE Auction!! Highest Bidder gets it!! Call with any question David @ 760-898-9601 It is time for me to sell my VF1000R...Too many toys, plus I just don't ride much anymore. Ok first the Mechanics. The bike runs well, although lately is has been idling rough...I think the pilot jets are getting clogged up from California gas and not riding everyday. The bike was restored mechanically...the engine was gone through, and repainted, the frame was painted and all new hoses and fittings. It does have a 4-1 exhaust, I do not have the original. I just put brand new Batlax Tires front and rear, with less than 100 miles on them, New O-ring chain, and new sprockets front and rear. And now the cosmetics. This bike is OK, but not show quality. There have been attempts at fixing cracks and scratches in the body panels. Mostly by previous owners. I have gotten quotes from companies that specialize in motorcycle body repair..most shops are in the $700-900 range for brand new looking panels. The Gas tank looks great with one very minor scratch on it. The seat is in good condition with no tears, and I do have the rear seat cowling for the bike. There is only one missing part and that is the left side lower inspection panel, I never had it...it was not with the bike when I bought it. I DO HAVE THE TOOL KIT! Ok now for anyone that is not familiar with the 1000R Interceptor...this thing is FAST! Top Speed of 147 MPH! And it has the Gear Driven Cams! In March 1984 Honda introduced the VF1000RE in Europe. Its styling was a celebration of the V4's racing heritage and the VF1000R was a showcase for the technology Honda had developed on the track. The super sports bike still featured the same 998 cc V-4 engine in its rectangular section pipe frame, but this was the first VF1000 to have gear driven cams that would become a trademark of future V4 Hondas, beginning with the VFR750. The VF1000R modifications increased the claimed output of the V4 engine to 122 bhp (91 kW) or 125bhp (American Release). The suspension system features adjustable Pro-Link rear suspension with adjustable braced front forks, dual floating front discs and racing style piston calipers on the ventilated rear disc enhance the braking. The 16-inch (410 mm) front and 17-inch (430 mm) rear NS type aluminum ComStars came on quick-release axle holders, and other features included the endurance racer style twin headlights, adjustable clutch and front brake levers, full fiberglass racing fairing and solo seat cowl.On Mar-18-11 at 10:31:26 PDT, seller added the following information:I have changed the top speed from 174 mph to 147 mph, I had mistyped and I thank all of you that emailed me so that I could correct it.
