Vehicle Detail

This 1957 Fairlane 500 is a driving project. It has a 1971 Ford 460 with a lot of miles; the cam bearings are going bad; it has 60 PSI at start-up, but after 20 minutes or so driving the oil drops to under 20 PSI. After a half-hour rest, the oil pressure comes back up to 60 PSI. The transmission is a rebuilt C6 with a shift kit. It has a Gennie shifter. The rebuilt rear end is a 9" with 3.25 gears and a Detroit Locker. 15 X 8.5 Weld wheels with 255/60R15 tires all around. The front tires and wheels are 6 months old. The body is very straight, with one rust hole in the RF fender, near the bottom. (see pic). There is some bodywork on the right door, and the filler is starting to crack. ALL the glass is there, and there are NO cracks in the glass. ALL of the chrome and stainless bits are there as well. The bumpers have been rechromed at least once in their lives. The car starts, runs, drives, and charges the battery. I have headlights, brake lights, and taillights. NO turn signals. NO interior light. NO wipers (The cables and pulleys for the wipers are in a shoe box in the trunk.) There is an ENOS fuse panel under the dash on the firewall. The gas gauge does NOT work. I have an aftermarket oil pressure gauge and water temp gauge mounted under the dash. A previous owner had cut gauge holes in the dash. The trans tunnel was cut out by a previous owner to mount a manual trans; I have covered the hole with a curved piece of 12 gauge sheet metal. If I keep the car, I would put in a new radiator. The bench seat is in good shape with no rips or tears. It is not stock. The back seat has been removed and replaced with a piece of curved sheet metal. There is carpeting in the car, but it needs to be replaced. The front disc brakes are out of a 70's LTD, with a new master cylinder. The car has been aligned recently, and goes down the freeway glassy-smooth.The front door panels are polished stainless steel, with a "hand-turned" section at the top of the panel. The driver's door handle is loose on the mechanism. All four windows roll up and down but should be greased to make them easier. The key does NOT unlock the driver's door, but it does unlock the passenger door. I dont drive the car much anymore, so I installed a quick-disconnect at the trunk mounted battery.Thank you for looking at my auction.
