Vehicle Detail
This old 1963 Chevrolet pickup is ready for a new home. It is about 90% original as the only things not original on the truck are the wheels and tires and the sound system. Original drive-train still intact and the frame and body of truck have not been modified. The truck is running, driving, and registered through April 2011. It is a true survivor and these are getting hard to find untouched. This generation of Chevy truck spanned from 1960 to 1966. The truck features a 292ci Chevrolet straight six and a 2 speed power-glide automatic transmission with shifter on the column. The engine fires right up and runs very well. It does not smoke and it accelerates well with good power. The truck has no trouble maintaining freeway speeds. The carb may need to be adjusted (or rebuilt) as it runs a little rough at low speed and has a back-fire at 55mph. If you accelerate past the 55mph mark it cruises just fine and it likes to run at about 65mph on the freeway with no problem. I have been driving this truck everyday on the freeway about 50 miles per day with no issues other than what I have listed above. Items recently replaced include... thermostat, water pump, plugs, plug wires, points, and some other odds and ends. The body of this old truck is fairly straight. The truck is solid in the floors and cab corners. It does have the usual rust these trucks are plagued with ... bottom of the doors and in the bottom corners of the front fenders. I have taken many pics so please look them over carefully and ask any questions you may have before bidding. The bed rails are very straight and what is left of the old wood has been left in place. The cockpit still retains its original bench seat. The original dash is uncut except for a modern stereo and the factory instruments are still present. The truck's electrical system is in working order. The charging system, headlights, taillights, turn signals, and brake lights, heater, horn, and windshield wipers are all working. Even the period correct spotlight is still working. The truck's glass is all present. The windshield has one rock chip and drivers side glass is cracked. The truck rolls on 15 inch chrome smoothies and period skinny white wall radials. The chrome wheels have some light surface rust from sitting but they should clean up nicely and the tires have plenty of tread life left. Overall this truck is good restoration candidate as it is so original. OR leave it as is and just enjoy this old survivor. The odometer reads about 110 but I am sure it is at least 100,110. The truck is sold where-is as-is no warranty expressed or implied. Shipping and shipping costs are the buyers responsibility. All payments must clear before truck is released. Cash, Money Order, Cashiers Checks, Bank Wire Transfers accepted.
