Vehicle Detail

Pictures: No dents, fading, scratches, or any other imprefections were removed or made to appear nicer with photo editing. There is also not rust on the muffler as it appears in the picture. There is a bit of bronzing, but not as much as there appears to be in the picture. Only 580 miles on the motor (short block), clutch, oil pump, spark plugs, and battery!!! Tires have about 2000 miles on them. The oil has 0 miles on it. The reserve is much less than the Buy It Now price. You’ll get this car for the about the price of a stock one with 75kmiles on the engine. This car is priced to move. Adult purchased. Adult owned. This 2004 Subaru Impreza WRX STi is a true wolf in sheep’s clothing. It’s “Hey look at me” appearance has been made classy so that it would look nice yet detour the attention of cops on the road and thieves in the parking lots. Yet, the opposite was done under the hood. On the outside, the flappy, overweight, state park bench looking, blind spot spoiler was replaced with a Subaru STi Limited lip and lighter trunk springs. The theme park trash receptacle hood scoop was replaced with a custom made inverted scoop (could have done a better job, but its not too bad). The guts have been messaged to destroy the road. The goal was power with great daily driving manners while not being too loud and obnoxious. For this I chose the Garrett GT30R rather than the GT35R. The 35 does provide more hp, but at the expense of low end torque. This is a street car not a drag racer. It’s never been to the strip with this turbo, though Im sure it will impress there. The GT30R is, of course, accompanied by all the required supporting mods plus an alcohol injection kit, which I never really used (shown installed but disconnected). The car has plenty of low and top end. It has excellent no-shift passing power, great road manners, stock smooth throttle, and a mellow sound. Always passes state inspection. Suspension was left stock. Subaru did a great job in the handling department plus I didn’t want a low riding car in Houston. Why the new engine short block? I made a big goof in the Spring of ‘10 forgetting to put oil in the car. By the time I realized it, it was too late. One of the cylinders started developed blowby. I drove it like that for a while, but didn’t want to sell it that way, so I had a brand new short block (I can prove it with a receipt) and clutch installed. I broke it in and had it tuned. Feels better than ever. The clutch still needs more break-in before tuning for top power. It currently sits a 440bhp base horsepower on premium fuel. Has had 483bhp premium and 505bhp with denatured alcohol sprayed. Anyone who knows these cars and these mods knows that is conservative. It’s not a new car. The car runs ubber smooth, but it’s not like new. The steering wheel and driver’s seat have wear. The short A/C hose leaks and needs to be repaired or replaced before running the A/C again. The steering linkage boot has a tear. The wheels have rash and chips. There are some door dings and such. There is a circular crack in the windshield on the passenger side (been like that for years). Airbag light is on most of the time. Rear shocks clunk (notorious issue for ’04-’05 Sti). 4th will sometimes scratch on down shift. The idle isn’t rock steady and never has been. It’s a non-issue but worth mentioning. Like I said, the car runs smoothly. The drivers rear lamp has a crack, but doesn't leak or fog (see picture). It’s been mine since day one and spent most of its parked life under covered parking or in a garage. I thought I would never sell it. It’s a stage-of-life thing I guess, so my beloved Subaru must go to a new owner. She fast, smooth, and handles great. It’s being sold as-is. Please ask all questions prior to bidding. I’ve sold 3 other cars online before, my modified 2002 WRX to a guy in North Carolina, my beater 1992 Cherokee to a guy in Texas, and an Acura Integra to a guy in Texas. No complaints so far.
