1985 Rolls Royce Silver Spur This Spur is a European Spec model originally ordered by a UK dealer for onward sale to the Principality of Monaco. It was then exported to the US. A very rare and unusual car, it is left hand drive as fitted at the factory, but has twin SU carbs instead of fuel injection, as well as a full leather interior including the headliner.The car is original in all respects, including paint, glass and interior. Very low mileage of 44,900. It runs out very well, has no emergency lights on the dash that do not go out. The a/c was redone with a new compressor, and it will freeze you out of the car. The braking system, hydraulic leveling system, etc has no operational issues. Engine, transmission and rear end are sound. The interior is exceptional, having nothing more than stress marks on the Magnolia creme leather, the door panels are perfect, and the door caps exhibiting minor age stress in the lacquer. The wood dash lacquers are also very nice. The Wilton wool carpets and the sheepskin rugs are present and nice. There are a few marks and scratches in the original paint, nothing a good detail shop can not remedy. Paint is very nice, as can be seen in the pictures, there is no oxidatiion. I purchased the car in Dallas, Texas in 2009, with the intention of using the car in Palm Springs as a retirement vehicle. Unfortunately, the dealer who sold it to me was rather unscroupulous in nature, and the car has numerous leaks, and the rack and pinion needs to be rebuilt($1,000), or replaced with a new one($4,000).Deferred maintenance and long term storage appear to be the cause. Repairing the car's faults at the retail level by RR qualified shops is beyond my capability. Hence, I am reluctantly offering the car at a very low reserve, and a huge loss.
