Up for auction is a 1989 Ford Mustang LX 5.0. This is the highly desirable notchback coupe model in 1D Dark Gray metallic, being 1 of only 842 produced this color in 1989 being the 25th anniversary model. I bought this car from the original elderly owner 2 years ago with the intention of keeping it original and in the garage, and since then I have only put 700 miles on the car. I'm running out of garage space, and this car deserves to go to a new home. It has never seen any rain or snow, or any type of inclement weather. The car is 100% original, never modified or raced. This car has never been in any type of accident, never has any type of paint work done, and has original VIN numbers on all panels, it truly looks like a time capsule. All molding is clean and wear free, still looking new. The interior is matching gray, also in phenomenal shape, the rear seat has never been sat in. Every piece inside the car looks brand new. Ashtray door is perfect, map light works perfectly, the car has never been smoked in and still smells new. This car is equipped with the 5.0L backed up by a 5spd manual transmission, which shifts smooth and flawlessly. The car starts up every time on the first crank, never had any smoke, and doesn't leak or drip any fluids, it really is like a new car. The car drives as if it is new as well, no noises or creaks of any kind. The tires were brand new when I purchased the car and have maybe 1,000 miles on them now. Under the hood is amazingly clean, the light on the hood even works perfectly, as well as the light in the trunk. Oil was recently changed with Motorcraft oil and filter, as well as Motorcraft air filter. The car was factory undercoated back in '89, a very clean job was done on that, and the underside of the car is just as clean as the top. The mudflaps are even factory option installed back in '89. Like I mentioned before, nothing has been changed or altered on this vehicle. The pictures really don't do this car justice, it could easily be in a museum. The power windows and locks work just like new, the A/C works, but should be charged as I don't think it ever has before after all these years. 1989 was the first year for mass air induction on these cars and was also the last year for no airbags, so it still has the smaller uncluttered steering wheel. You can see around the oil pan rail, it looks brand new and dry as can be, as well as the transmission and the rear end still has it's shiny black paint on it. The exhaust also looks new as seen in the photos. All tags, cable ties, and markings from the factory are still present and legible.
