Price lowered to $1,000, this is the lowest I'll go!This is a 1989 Volvo 240GL. This car has a sunroof, leather seats with seat heaters, and electric windows. Inside and out, this car is in above average condition for a 240. You also very rarely find a GL model. The back right window doesn't work, an it feels like the switch is the problem. The previous owner had caulked the sunroof shut, probably to stop a leak. Since caulk never helps stop leaks anyway, I made the sunroof functional again, but there is some caulk residue still on it. The engine runs very well and the transmission shifts very well. Overdrive does work. I just changed the oil. The suspension is probably in above average condition as well, though not perfect. Sometimes a low-speed 90 degree turn will cause a vibration through the steering rack, I don't know what causes that. Other than that, it drives smooth. It also pulls right a little. As of recently, all gauges stopped working (I may know someone with a working gauge cluster I can put in it). When I got it, the odometer didn't work, but all the other gauges did. I have paperwork from shops that worked on it in 2006, showing it's mileage to be at 195,504, and it has barely been driven since the odometer stopped at 220,004 no more than two months ago. Installed in the car is an Optima Yellowtop battery which was $170. This car starts right up every time and I would trust it on any length of road trip. Three of the tires are dry-rotted but will probably go another 10,000 miles or so, one tire is pretty new. Just installed new wiper blades. The wiper motor and all signals and lights work great. These cars realistically get around 21 MPG city and 26-27 highway. Inspection and registration expired about a month ago. UPDATE!: Brake booster has been replaced, and the brakes work great!
