Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is a 100% original, untouched 2 owner 1958 Chevrolet Apache 3100 series (1/2 ton) pickup truck. Details are below and you can see all 32 pictures of this truck by COPYING AND PASTING this link into your browser: http://community.webshots.com/album/579827434uTHpoc?vhost=community "THE GOOD" It was the 760th 1958 truck to roll off the assembly line in Atlanta Georgia in late 1957. It came from the factory with a very rare and desirable color for 58 trucks - JET BLACK - paint code 700. It is 100% complete with matching #'s engine, trans, radiator etc...every single date code and number matches all over. It is a true, factory Deluxe Cab truck that came equipped w/ all the chrome trim around the glasses, chrome grill and bumpers. Has what is left of its factory Jet black paint, so you know there is NO BONDO and NO FORMER BODYWORK plus NO SPRAYPAINT or other negative application ever done to this truck. It has its original seat w/ factory fabric on it. Its original gastank is in excellent condition outside and inside. It has 3 of its 4 original T3 headlights. It has no rust or rot anywhere in the roof or driprail - inside or out. Inside and outside of big window related sheetmetal is in great unrotted condition. All of its original wiring appears to be in tact and uncut with exception for the ends that plug to the ignition switch - just needs plug ends re-attched. Has all good glass. Has all 4 of its original wheels. Has a very restorable cab with no rot holes in the door hinge pockets, steps or in any unusual places. Factory 235 engine runs like a sewing machine. This truck is a neat old piece of history with all its battle scars and great patina - I think it deserves to be saved from the crusher and used for a good purpose. Could make a nice 58 Cameo clone out of it with enough work. Thank you for considering it....call me at 256 486 1988 if you have questions "THE NOT-SO-GOOD" This truck needs cab corners, trans floor cover, welding / patching to the pass side floor, and a roof dent stud-gunned to have a nice cab again. Bed has no wood much left, and both fenders are dented and rotted. Not much of the bed is all that good for restoring. Both bumpers and grill are bent up, but I have all three in original chrome but much better straighter shape if you just want to drive this truck around as is and need it to just look a little straighter. Needs front fenders and Drivers door - pass side door might can be saved with a new bottom. Brakes do not work - needs a master cyl rebuild and probably all around brake cylinder honing or replacement before you can drive it. Might need metal or rubber brake lines if they are bad. Do not know if the heater or wipers work but they are complete. Cables are all froze up to operate all cable operated items. 55-59 PARTS FOR SALE: Set of perfectly rot free 1957 Chevy Truck inner fenders, several upper grille supports for 55-56, 57-59 Steering wheel, hood hinges, complete long stepside beds, headlight buckets, etc....lots of miscellaneous stuff. No doors, no front fenders and no hoods right now. Just odds and ends mostly - maybe a gas tank Inquire and maybe I can help....
