Vehicle Detail
Ready to go riding! Here's your new friend! The Goldwing from the early '80s set new standards for touring with the GL1100 - integrated fairing, comfortable seating, generous power... the whole package. This bike established Honda as the leader in touring bikes. This baby has been resurrected... and she is back in fine form!! This abandoned project has had a mechanical makeover... and is ready to ride. Just look at all the chrome some previous owner adorned this lady with - about $2500 worth of Drag Specialty stuff by my estimate. Here's a brief list of improvements/maintenance recently done: Carbs rebuilt using Randakk components; installed and synch'ed...running great!!New tires front and rearBrakes overhauled; stops like it has anchorsNew sealed battery (one month old)Fresh fluids EVERYWHERENew starterNew switchesNew gripsNew floorboardsA total of at least $1500 for the above if you can find someone to do this work!! So...she starts easy, stops hard, travels smooth and honks loud... that's the good part and the most important part about getting back on the road. The bad is mostly cosmetic; the paint got ruined while she sat... but can easily be repainted or just replaced (ebay is great for that). The faux tank cover in the correct color can be found here for about $75...lots less than repainting and restriping. Meantime, while waiting for new pieces to arrive you can be out riding... and that's what you want isn't it? Ebay pictures are pretty lame... maybe they like it that way, so you buy something you can't see well until you get it in your hands. Go to http://s269.photobucket.com/albums/jj77/tomswift99/BlingWing/ to see 20+ large photos of the bikes... you'll see the shiny bling and the warts... but you will have a better idea of what you're getting. So start your riding season with this chromed out toy; She's ready to go where you want! Fly in and ride it home... Bike is sold "as is" <= this means ask questions before bidding, once the auction is over the only question I want to hear is "will you help load it on my truck?" If you decide to have it shipped to you, you might consider uship.com; they are the ebay of shipping and can provide good rates door-to-door. I will cooperate with any shipper given heads up they are coming. Deposit is due within 24hr after end of auction, full payment within one week cash or money order from verifiable source (this means I may call the bank to verify it was issued before releasing the bike). Bike can be stored up to 2 weeks after end of auction, later than that will require $5/day storage fee unless agreed upon prior to end of auction. Not trying to be hard here, just laying down some guidelines so we all know what's coming. Thanks for looking, good luck bidding and as always bless you for helping clear out my garage!! TS99
