1985 Chevrolet Monte Carlo V8 for sale. This car is being sold as a restoration project or for parts only. It doesn't run. The engine block is cracked, the car will need a new engine. Also needs new radiator and a new alternator. The car has 116,000 original miles, and was being driven regularly (highway, to and from work the last 3 years, 13 miles a day) until this winter when the radiator sprang a leak and the engine block froze and cracked as a result. I purchased the car in June 1999, from a gentleman who owned the car only for 5 months or so, who had bought the car from the original owner. Three owners only, and well cared for. I have most of the service receipts and other original documents from all of its years, as well as the original owners manual. I removed the stereo system because it cost me 1500 and I couldn't let it go for nothing. So no radio included. I had a new alarm system installed February 2010, new Front Brakes, Battery and Thermostat installed February 2010, new passenger side window motor installed March 2010, new Windshield Wiper Motor installed March 2010, new Starter installed March 2010, New rear Brake Line, and new rear Trunk Lock installed June 2010. I have all of these receipts. Also the car got new paint in January 2009. Minor interior issues: small cracks in isolated area on dashboard, door pull came off on Driver's Door, rips on both sides of front seat lumbar support, small rip on side of drivers seat (see pics). Exterior: front left panel has dent, that's all (see pic). The car looks beautiful. So that's the car. For many years I only drove the car on the weekend, as did the original owner which is why this 26 year old car only has 116k. I will miss this car, I owned it for almost 12 years. I have a family now and just can't sink more money into it to properly get it back on the road. If you jump it, it will run; I drove it home from the service station after the cracked engine block diagnosis. Just that since the alternator is no good, the car will not hold a charge. You'll need to tow it away. Very fair price. The car is in great condition for it's age. But again, this Monte is only for the car enthusiast that wants to restore it, or sadly, to part it out. Sold as is friends, so keep all of what I told you in mind. I have done my best to explain every detail pertinent to this car, but if you have any further questions I will be glad to answer them.
