Rescued from a long storage since 2003 is this Full Size 4 door Luxury Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight Regency powered by a smooth low mile 307 5.0L V8 with the Rochester 4bbl carb 140hp. Body is straight with rust and faded silver paint, head piece, Padded roof is cracked and also faded. Car originally came from Hot Springs,AK no engine smoke, starts first turn everytime. In 1984 This was the rich mans ride, new these where big money $24,000. Used also for livery, I drove a black one with black leather for airport runs, I loved these 98's and was happy to invest and repair. When GM downsized in 1985 and went V6 front wheel drive, these early 80's full size olds where kept by the limo firms. Real chrome wire spoke hub caps with lock + tool included, wheel skirts, 25 gallon fuel tank with low warning light. 1984 was the last year of the GM rear wheel drive body-on-frame Park Ave, DeVille and 98 until the return of the V8's in 1992 "fat guppy" body styles. Remember rear leg room for 3 ~ This 84 Olds has it all Fresh IL Title in hand ! Clean carpeted trunk I replaced both brake lines all the way to the master cylinder due to leaking, also replaced the Trans Cooling lines, New Battery, Air Filter, oil change invested $1000 to get this Limo back on the road. Owner stored it for 7 years cause he love the old cruiser. We found it with flat tires, no brakes and leaky trans in December 2010. Mechanic laugh at this beater until he sat inside, this aint no smartcar kid. Real steel. Walnut dash, FM Stereo with power antenna (Cool ) Tilt wheel, amazing plush blue valour seats with lighted doors, power trunk release (huge trunk),Opera lights on the rear pillars, dual front and back arm rest, front turning lights, delay wipers with new Bosch blades, Great heater, quiet 307 V8 starts right up, electronic ignition, power door locks, lighted vanity mirror, Front reclining passenger seat, door pulls, power windows, 4 speed trans with overdrive, Great power steering, dual mirrors, quiet luxury ride. 2 sets of keys. No more 8-track for 1984, delco cassette which needs repair, stereo works but front speakers could sound better, front power attenna raises when stereo is turned on, now thats old school GM The Bad : (First of all I'm a great photographer) 27 year old paint faded with rust areas, driver power seat motor works but plastic gear cracked (will explain) easy fix, just spins. Brakes calipers should be replaced for better braking. Rust under the car will require more parts to up-graded in the future.I would replace the ball joints next. Driver door has rust down along the seam, you need to slam it to close tight, all other doors swing perfect. Old firestone tire are ok but I would upgrade. its a Great vintage rear wheel drive Olds with low original miles with amazing interior, great Olds V8, that's why I had it repaired~ spent $1000.00 to bring her back from the dead because the V8 ran great ~ deluxe interior, loaded with options with nice color combination (not orange interior) & chrome made it a good project. 1984 was the end of the Line for the real Ninety-Eights Oldsmobiles.
