Hello, up for bids is a hard to fine 1951 Olds 98 Deluxe. The Deluxe modal came with Illuminated ash tray,extra chrome molding, special rear door ornament, rear center seat armrest, deluxe electric clock, deluxe steering wheel with horn ring and special chrome trim., and upholstrey choices where nylon cord, nylon cloth and leather. The engine is a 303 cid with over head valves, hydraulic lifters. Torque: 263 pound feet at 1800 rpm Rochester BB two- barrel. Engine does smoke when first starting up do to sitting for a while. Car was originaly bought in California, there a picture of car with black Cali number platte, grandson inherited car and shipped out here, not being us to the parking brake did not engage it anough and it rolled forward breaking part of the grill, the broken part is in the trunk.Car still drives and handles great took it out and put roughly thirty miles on it. Car has been garaged half it's life. There is some damge to the fender when it rolled forward, the corner of the left front fender got pushed in some, also there are dents on the left fender in the middle just befor the door, also on the lower left door near the corner, and on the tip of the chrome arrow head on the left passanger door, all shown in the picturs. Over all the car is in great shape for as old as it is. All glass is in good condition, with no chip or cracks, there is some yellowing and bubbling of the vent windows. The paint needs to be re-done,but still looks good, only has surface rust. Tires are Coker wide whites, i'm sure they need to be replaced, but still look good. The interior will need the most help, the drivers seat is whorn with rips in the upper and lower seat, door panels have water stains, and the headliner needs to be replaced. The best part is the dash is in great shape clock works intermitly and the odemeter cable needs to be replaced. All lights and other gauges work as well as the wipers. Car would be a simple restoration project. If you are bidding on car please make sure you have funds available, will not take payments or trades. Would suggest having car trailered, i would not trust the old biase ply tires for a long trip.
