Vehicle Detail

1964 Chevrolet El Camino Show-and-Go Pro-Street NO RESERVE! Up for no reserve auction is an incredible 1964 Chevrolet El Camino. It has undergone a complete restoration and pro-street modification. It is a true "Show and Go" car capable of wowing on street, winning on the track or drawing crowds the local show and shine. Please read the complete listing and Terms and Conditions before bidding. ENGINE, TRANS, REAR The heart of the beast is a 100-over Big Block Chevy 454 cubic inch V8 engine with 13.5:1 compression, forged crank, rods, cast iron square port heads, chromoly retainers, huge ports, polished and balanced bottom end, full Jessel roller valvetrain, a supplied 1050 cfm Dominator carburetor, (it comes with a Edelbrock Performer on it for street driving), and MSD ignition. The engine was originally created for a river race jet boat by famous motor-builder Art Davis in Tacoma to meet or exceed 700 hp and balanced to run at 7K rpm. The Elky features an A-1 PowerGlide, transmission brake, 6K stall. Art Morrison 4 link with Ford 9 inch, Strange spool, 4.88 gears, Billet aluminum nodular center section, and Strange axles. Custom 3 inch aluminized exhaust over the axles with Flowmasters. Approved fuel cell and full roll cage. WHEELS AND TIRES Getting the power to the ground are two sets of Convo Pro wheels/tires, one for slicks 31X18.50X15, one for street legal tires 33X18.50X15. Both sets of tires almost new. The car has only seen a few test and tune runs down the drag strip during current ownership of nearly a decade by a well-regarded professional mechanic and shop owner. Mostly used for display at shows. BODY, CHASSIS AND INTERIOR Tuxedo Black paint is simply stunning on an extremely straight and rust-free body and chassis. Includes two hoods -- fiberglass six-inch cowl (as pictured) and the original factory steel hood both painted to match. Interior is nice with Chevelle seats. See pictures for a better idea of how great this car looks inside and out. It would cost well over $50,000 to replicate this wonderful and wickedly fast example of the best model year of El Camino, yet I've set the opening no-reserve bid at only $14,500!!! Update: There are already many bidders watching the auction and have told me they are waiting to snipe (place a bid at the last second). Bid early with your best offer for a chance to win this car capable of outrunning any street-legal Ferrari ever built. TERMS AND CONDITIONS Car is sold as-is, where-is in Olympia, WA (approximately 60 miles south of Seattle and 30 south of Tacoma) with no warranties or guarantees of any kind either expressed or implied. Shipping is the sole responsibility of the buyer. Because this is a no reserve auction, a bid is a contract to buy, so ASK QUESTIONS BEFORE BIDDING by emailing ebay@apexstrategy.com. While this description has been created with the intention of being as accurate as possible in every detail (and feedback reflects my desire to reflect accuracy,) expectations can vary greatly in the collector car world, so the auction item description above should not be considered a substitute for an in-person inspection prior to placing a bid. Winning bidder must contact seller at ebay@apexstrategy.com within 48 hours of auction close. Payment due in the form of cash in-person, verifiable cashier's check or EFT within two weeks of auction close. Car must be picked-up within four weeks of auction close unless additional agreement is reached with seller. Email me ASAP to set up a time. Just keep in mind that there is one day left to the auction and it is really snowy and icy out!!! 3) I will not end the auction early out of respect to the current high bidder and others planning on bidding (most likely in that last minute!!!) 4) It is road legal, registered and licensed for the street, and has a real, clear WA title. 5) Yes -- it is fast. Indeed, it's very fast for a muscle car with a full interior. With the Dominator, slicks and a decent driver, you'll be in the 10s, which means car-lengths ahead if you're racing a stock Ferrari Enzo, Corvette ZR1, Porsche 911 Turbo, Ford GT, or Shelby Cobra. 6) There are very low road miles and few drag events on this car and engine. If I recall correctly, it has just a few test and tune day runs and a couple runs at the Shelton Vintage Drag Races a few years ago. The engine and car have been meticulously and professionally maintained. The existing high bid means the car is selling in this auction!!! Ask your questions before bidding, because the high bidder wins this 1964 Chevy El Camino!!!On Feb-25-11 at 18:50:57 PST, seller added the following information: Forgot to include that the car includes a brand new and freshly installed vacuum pump setup. This $950 unit supplies vacuum to the crankcase to keep the oil in the proper place -- a must when no PCV Valve is used and very low engine vacuum is present courtesy of larger roller cams.
