Vehicle Detail

You are bidding on a 1952 Mercedes 300 Adenauer which I have owned for nine years. The car went through a complete restoration of the body and the interior. The engine was seized when I bought the car. I bought a parts car with a very good engine and used the engine in this car. I still have the dismantled original engine if the purchaser is interested in it. The car was originally all black, but we had it painted two tone and it looks spectacular. I have put roughly 10000 miles on the car since I have owned it. I took it on one trip of 2200 miles. To make the car more comfortable on trips I added air conditioning and a power brake booster. I also converted the ignition to Crane electronic for added reliability. I was fortunate enough to find a NOS grille insert and NOS fender spears with lenses. It was given a new steering wheel and horn ring. All the chrome was replated. The seats got new leather and a new headliner was installed The wood was refinished. The car has been kept in a climate controlled garage since I have owned it. It has a Becker Nurburg radio which was sent to Becker for cleaning and it checked out ok. All I had to do was wind the clock and it still worked after 50 years. It had been sitting for thirty years when I bought it. At one time I had the spare parts box, but I loaned it to someone so he could have reproductions made. He never returned it. There is a luggage strap and one piece of Karl Baisch luggage to go with the car It has wide whitewall radial tires on it. It has a Time Valve stainless steel exhaust system. It needs no major work, but could use a professional tune up. The oil pressure is very good. The charging system is good. The cooling system is also good. This is one of the best looking cars surviving today. It would make a great addition to anyone's collection. The instrumentation is metric. Feel free to ask questions. I have them for all four windows and they will go with the car. I do not keep them in the windows since the car has ac. I also have the curtain rods with hooks. They will go with the car along with the attaching hardware. I used the center support bolt anchor to support the shoulder harness. The original center support bracket has been chrome plated and altered so that the shoulder harness will work with the curtain rod in the car. The curtain rods have not been reupholstered. There are two sets and they will both go with the car. An added convenience is that an auxiliary brake fluid reservoir has been added at a comfortable level to make it easy to check the fluid level and add if necessary. On Feb-25-11 at 13:27:28 PST, seller added the following information: This car won the People's Choice Award at MBCA Startech held in Cary, North Carolina. I have driven it in many parades and it usually carries the Grand Marshall. I get lots of requests to use the car for weddings also. There will be a parts and a service manual with the car. It also has a glovebox manual or owners handbook.
