Vehicle Detail
First off I am a member of the VJMC (Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club) and I have talked to a lot of people about these bikes....I don't know everything but I do know quite a bit.I will be glad to accept phone callsEd 505 8428117 I bought this bike a number of years ago . I had deciding I needed a CA77 Dream. They really are a funky looking bike and I had to have one . I would not have been caught dead on one when I was 16 though (in 1966) At first I bought a bunch of cheaper bikes .....most of them turned out to be total junk. In fact I ended up pursuing an a## h*%& for a year and a half trying to get my money back. He had sold me 2 Dreams for $500 (I received one totally trashed bike)....but I finally did get the money back. The guy was notorious for screwing people. Then I bought a Dream on ebay ....it showed up on my birthday. When I saw it my heart sank. I felt like such an idiot. Why did I buy such a lousy bike? Note: Make sure the pictures of the bike are bright pictures and not dark ones on a listing so you can see what you are getting . Buying a bike on ebay can be like meeting a woman at a bar when you are drunk. All in all I owned about 5 low class Dreams before I said "ok I will spend the money and get a decent one". This bike is the one I bought,...again on ebay . (There ARE some good sellers on ebay) It was running , titled, all the sheet metal was good ... no rust, excellent to decent chrome, nice mufflers. etc ...the paint looked pretty bad however .I didn't care I put new brakes and tires on it . I had the seat recovered ( it had to be black) I piddled around on it ...I paid ridiculous amounts of money for a handful of hard to find parts on ebay.(its real hard to stop) I bought more old bikes . Finally the day came and I said I'll get the engine rebuilt. After some research I sent the engine to Ed Moore in Texas ...he is one of a only a handful of Honest to God Honda 305 experts and mechanics. ( I had bought a CL from his friend in California Tom Stockstill ) Ed did a beautiful job on the engine of course.. .If you need a 305 rebuilt he is the guy to do it. The engine and transmission and carb were completely gone through. To rebuild an engine now will cost you around $2000. I put the bike back together... The paint still looked like hell. I didn't care, I piddled around on the bike ...it has very few miles on the engine So flash forward a few years and now I've got about 9 bikes (some in parts) The stock market crashes . My wife is grouchy, I'm running out of room for the bikes. So I decide ...I'll sell the bikes . I send some pictures of the Dream to some people and they all say ...."The paint looks like hell nobody will want it ." The America populace is determined to make money by spending it. I am an American. (I see this trend has infected the US government) " If I have to re-paint the bike I'll do it." I tell myself. I did it . I tore it down, had some parts re-chromed some polished and the sheet metal powder coated. I bought more parts on ebay ...some ridiculously expensive. I spent more money to make money ..or at least to get some of the money back. Caution: Do not attempt this on your own ! Honda Dreams were made by angry Japanese not that long after WWII who wanted to get back at Americans . They succeeded. After you spend 3 hours trying to get the air cleaner into a Dream you will know what I mean The bike is not a 100 point restoration . I don't know what kind of points it is but it was a good honest restoration. Some parts did not get polished. I did not want to re-lace the damn wheels) Some of the chrome is original . I was not gonna redo the mufflers ! they are good enough. I just bought and installed some new exhaust pipes and had a few parts zinc plated it has the plastic re-strike badges Im adding more pics and if I can figure it out I'll put up a video of it running .You can tell the difference between my pics and the photographer I hired >>>>>>>>>>>>> If you want a 100 point bike I don't think this bike has that far to go to be one. Consult an expert. Become an expert You are buying what you see. I have a vague idea what $ I have in the bike (not counting labor). but I really don't want to know exactly how much it is . This bike has matching (for Honda) #s and a Clear New Mexico title You are responsible for shipping but if I can help I willIf there is some kind of problem call or email me and we will work it out.
