Hello Volkswagen fans young and old. First I encourage all to check out my feedback and you will see I always go the extra mile no matter if you're down the street or from the Netherlands. I just sold a wonderful beetle to a gentleman in the Netherlands and thank you so much for your feedback Ernst. Ok, Back to the car . This is a beautiful 1979 Volkswagen Super Beetle Convertible Karman Edition that is and was a life long California car and has the original California blue plates that will be included with the car. The original plates the car was given to the original owner .This is also a second owner which she owned the car since 1984 and this has it's original style small California title that is clear and open for the new owner . I am not going to waste time going over every last day the car was owned and every repair so I will keep it short . If the car needed anything it was replaced ,if it needed it or not . The engine was totally rebuilt in 1990 or about 20,000 miles ago and at that time a new clutch was also installed. The tie rods , ball joints ,struts , brakes were also scrupsaly maintained and that is why this car is so tight and one of the very best I have ever offered for sale. All the glass is in great shape with new running boards ,gravel guards and I just replaced the top and headliner with a brand new top just in the last few days .When some say they have a new top what they're really saying the top was put on 5 years ago. When I say the top is new I mean it is fresh out of the box and still has it's new top smell. Ok, next interior I have the original seats that need recovered or I have all brand new interior that I will include already done and only 5 minutes to install . Because I am offering this car at no reserve I can not take the chance with $4,000 or $5,000 worth of restoration costs and it only sells for less. So new interior if the car sells for over $4,200.00 . Next the car has been painted recently and recent means the first part of December and it is in very good condition . I do not like putting values on my cars but I sold one that didn't hold a candle to this 3 years ago for $9,100.00 and they were tickled pink and drove it back from Vegas where I delivered it to them to their home in Phoenix Az. We will finish up with the current running condition . We did a compression test on all 4 cylinders which Volkswagen specks the low for a older motor is around 87 psi and with a high as fresh out of the factory with a 114 psi . This one tested between 104 psi and 107 psi which I will show pictures or video of the cylinders being tested. Also I have replaced the fuel injectors on the left bank as well as a new air flow meter,spark plug wires , distributor cap,rotor,coil and spark plugs and as well as new oil all in the last 2 weeks. All fuel lines have had a pressure test done and they are dead on. The fuel pump is also quite new and is working as it should. There is no reason what so ever why this car would not meet any and all smog requirements even the strictest California laws should be no problems for this car. If you need help getting the car smogged in California as long as I am paid I will make sure it will smog certificate. If your in any of the other 48 states I do not know your laws or regulations that is your job and please know this before bidding. This has a clear open California title which will be sent Ups over night to new buyer if out of state once all monies have been received. If you have any questions or concerns they need to be brought to my attention prior to bidding and not after . If you bid this is a legally binding contract and it is not fair for the next bidder to lose the car by $50.00 and then you make your own terms or conditions. This car was kept in a climate controled garage for over 20 years. No rust in shock towers or in the body ever with its original German sheetmetal it came with in 1979. No accidents ever and clear title.On Feb-15-11 at 12:25:09 PST, seller added the following information: Hello All, Since the bidding has got going all the new interior is included.There is new door panels , sun visors as well as brand new seat covers in original basket weave as original. These are not the slip overs, this is the type that came from the factory and in white.Also there is aftermarket porche type /riveria rims that can be traded out for the stock Le Mertz rims that's pictured at no additional cost but not both. If you just looked at the new top having it professionally installed it would run you $1,500.00 min and a waiting list sometimes months long. Also if you had the interior professionally replaced as it will be at the end of auction , it would run you additional $1,000.00 ,sun visors are around $60.00 and door panels around $200.00 and seat covers around $225.00 and you haven't paid to have them installed yet . A good shop is $120.00 an hour and figure at least 8 hours to do the whole interior and you can add it up. I also wanted to mention white interior is considerably higher priced then black and harder to find . Thank you all for your bids and I hope this information has been helpful.
