Vehicle Detail
I have decided to sell my 1976 Buick Electra 225 that I inherited from my Grandmother back in 2003. For the past 7 years it has been an ongoing hobby of mine keeping the car looking and driving as good as it did back in 1976. I am confident that whoever buys this car will enjoy it as much as I have. I will do my best to describe in detail the vehicles current condition down to the smallest of detail. The car has roughly 38,000 original Miles which explains its remarkable condition both inside and out. (That averages out to just over 1,000 miles per year! My grandma truly was that old lady who only drove her car to church and back. Haha) But seriously my Grandma took exceptional care of this car and it is in amazing shape for being 34 years old. *I had concerns from potential buyers of the auctual miles...currently have no substantial proof of the milage other than my word. I know there is no way my grandma put over 100k on the vehicle and i personally drove the car just several thousand. I will look into getting more proof of the current miles before ending this auction. Pump the gas; turn the key, and the monster 455 engine roars to life. Don’t be deceived by this Buick’s size, the engine easily moves this massive 4,600lb car with plenty of power to spare. Acceleration is smooth and you can barely feel the Turbo 400 transmission shifting gears. The Buick will coast down the highway at 90mph with ease. Averaging around 18Highway MPG 10city MPG fuel consumption isn’t as bad as many would think. A new muffler from the exhaust manifold back to the tailpipe sounds great. I recently changed all the spark plugs and the timing has been adjusted. Front brake pads and rear shoes were replaced less that 500miles ago. The interior of this car is in phenomenal condition and shows how well it has been taken care of. The headliner/dash/seats/carpets/ are all MINT. The original outdated factory radio was professionally replaced and installed by circuit city 2005 with an alpine CD player/speakers/amp. The car was originally equiped with AC however it was disconnected when the AC condensor broke a few years ago. We really don't need that much AC in Buffalo NY, so i never had it fixed. it would take $250 to have AC again. The only flaws with the interior include a tear in drives side armrest. Also the car is missing drives side door pull strap (can be purchased online for $50.) The Trunk has been cleaned out, but a new carpet would do wonders. The outside of the car looks just as good as the interior. The car was completely stripped and repainted summer 2010. The candy apple red paint w/ metallic flake looks good and sparkles in the sun. It’s hard to tell from these pictures just how metallic the paint is. It is a real head turner and brings smiles to everyone’s faces wherever you go. Upon a closer inspection, a few small runs in the paint are visible. However, from 10 feet away the paint job still looks amazing and gets many compliments. The original quarter panel fillers were replaced with high quality fiberglass replacements ($300) The chrome and stainless all look good with the exception of a few MINOR pits here and there. A 2” scratch in the rear bumper is another minor defect. Overall the chrome is bright and clean. All of the rubber weather stripping and trim pieces are great. I really don’t want to sell this car, but I just graduated college and don’t have the time I once did to enjoy this car. Please don’t hesitate to ask me any questions or request additional pictures.
