1978 Cadillac Seville 4-Door Sedan Click Image for Photos 1978 Cadillac Seville This one family California car resided in the Beverly Hills/Westwood area its entire life before being donated to the Petersen Automotive Museum in 2007. Completely rust free, it was well taken care of by the family and has spent the past few years in an environmentally controlled storage facility. Manufactured between 1975 and 2004, the Seville was a mid-sized luxury sedan positioned right behind Cadillac’s top model the Deville. The Seville combined Cadillac’s long-standing image of luxury with power and performance. Drivetrain: The Cadillac Seville listed here retains its stock 5.7-liter V8 engine with 3-speed automatic transmission. The Bendix/Bosch fuel injection system gives it smooth handling and performance. It starts and runs OK, but has a slight hesitation on acceleration. Brakes work fine. Exterior: Doors, hood and trunk fit well and shut tightly. The trunk lid pull-down mechanism works. The vinyl roof looks to be in good shape, except for slight bubbling on the passenger side A pillar. The paint also looks to be in very good shape. We believe it had a high quality repaint recently, but there are a few areas of spotting. The Michelin tires are new. The spare tire and jack are in the trunk. All exterior lights work. Interior: The cream leather interior is in good shape overall, but the driver’s seat is a bit worn and there is a small rip on the backseat. All interior lights and gauges work. The vehicle features power windows, power locks, power seats, air-conditioning and AM/FM radio with a power antenna, all of which work except the A/C and antenna. The antenna can be pulled up manually. Overall: Please keep in mind that this Cadillac has been sitting in storage for the past 3 years and while it runs and drives we suggest that a qualified mechanic take a look at the car. The Cadillac is currently registered in the state of California and retains its original California blue plates.
