I am selling my 1997 540i that needs transmission repair. It is currently in "limp" mode what the shop told me and there were two transmission codes present. 1. transmission output speed sensor 2. gear 4 ratio out of spec. The only other problem with the car is that the dash is pixelated which I am told is a common problem with the bmw digital dash? So I write 157,xxx for mileage because you cant read all of the numbers on the odometer. I bought the car 4 1/2 years ago and kept very good care of it. It has four brand new snow tires maybe a 1,000 miles on them, with in the last year I had the water pump, fan clutch, thermostat, complete tune-up including all 8 coils. When I bought the new tires a month ago I had new front pads and rotors, and control arm ball joints, basically I put over twenty five hundred in the car in the last year, and it is becoming to be too much maintenance for me. I love this car and it is breaking my heart to sell it b/c even though I got a new car it is such a down grade to the quality Im used to in the very "plush" bmw it drove great and if you know how to solve the problems with the trans you will have a great very fast car! please call me if you have any questions or want any more pics e mailed to you. 5853541071 jimmy
