This Mercedes has an in-line 6 cylinder gasoline engine and automatic transmission. The engine and transmission perform beautifully; it does not smoke or leak anything. It has electric windows, cloth interior, power steering, power brakes, JVC AM/FM/CD player, and Mercedes original alloy wheels complete with all caps. Radio works, but reception is limited because the electric antenna does not work. Paint on the hood, top, and trunk lid is faded as shown in the photos. It is dependable, but does have rust, also as seen in the photos. The cloth interior is very good except the top of the rear seat is threadbare in places from sun exposure, and noticeable wear on the entry side of the driver's seat. The original Mercedes Benz tool kit is in the trunk and it appears to be complete, if a little rusty. The original emergency first aid kit remains in its compartment; it is complete and the plastic packages holding supplies have not been opened! All electric windows except the left rear work; the left rear makes noise, but no movement. Electric sunroof partially moves only a short distance too and fro. The photos show visible external rust, but the floor board on the driver's side was rusted through and replaced with non-original sheet metal; perhaps as a result, the driver's seat, which has exceptional leg room, moves for and aft with some effort. Tires (2 pairs) are roadworthy, no leaks. The original spare, full of air, appears to be in the trunk which appears to be sound. The exhaust is in great condition with no leaks. The engine starts instantly. There are a set of 5 (possibly air powered) optional horns under the hood (see the photo) that do not appear to be functional. The speedometer and all gauges, except the odometer work. The odometer and trip odometer appear to work intermittently; odometer shows 109,175, but the previous owner listed the actual mileage as 139,127. I have driven the car about 100 miles; steering, brakes, all lights, etc. are solid, but it is a littler louder than I thought it should be. Nevertheless, fully capable of maintaining, with ease, any highway speed. A serious restoration with emphasis on rust repair could turn this baby into a real classic, or use the parts to complete yours. I was advised that the classic European style headlights (vehicle also includes a nearly complete US style set of headlights), cloth interior, and "short" bumpers are unique and may indicate that the vehicle was intended for European markets.
