This is a 1974 Plymouth Fury II former Montana Highway Patrol car. It has most of its original paint along with the original interior. There is some minor body damage on the left side. The only rust on the car is where the last owner had a battery in the trunk tipped on its side. Otherwise, this is an extremely dry example...southwest Montana has low yearly rainfall, low humidity, and salt is not used on the roads. The tranmission is a numbers matching 727 torqueflite and the rear end is the original 9 1/4-inch sure-grip. The engine is a 361 V-8 not original to the car. A nice running 1974 440 along with a pristine blue dash pad (not part of this auction) are available, and their purchase can be negotiated separately by the winning bidder. The dual snorkel air cleaner and Leece Neville alternator are there and appear in good condition. All fender tags are present as well as the broadcast sheet. Note that the VIN does not have the K-code, however this car was equipped with all the police equipment; U-code 440, sure-grip differential, throttle lock, spot light, HD roof reinforcement, roof light wiring, cross member reinforcement, power deck lid release, certified 140mph speedometer, etc., as ordered by the MHP.
