Vehicle Detail
1989 JEEP WAGONEER Factory Original 360 Motor AutomaticWith A/C Loaded With OptionsRebuilt Motor, Transmission, Stereo System A Whole New Suspension,Lift Kit, Shocks, New Tires & Wheels History on this vehicle: This is an excellent vehicle that was previously owed by Jeep Wagoneer Dealership Employee in South Carolina. This vehicle was meticulously maintained, and was sold to the next owner in Louisiana. I bought this vehicle for my wife last year. It is in excellent condition and draws attention wherever we go. We drove it to Daytona (250 miles away ) last November and did not have any problems. I parked in the infield with the classic cars, and received nothing but the best compliments from a lot of car guys at the show. History On Wagoneers: Remember, Lee Iacocca, former C.E.O. for Ford, started and built the first Ford Mustang's back in 1964. Iacocca then took over Jeep in mid 1980's when Chrysler was in trouble. Iacocca had a vision to build the best quality S.U.V.'s to help Chrysler out of their financial trouble. Once again, his plan worked and he actually started the revolution, and the beginning of the luxury S.U.V we now know today. The 1988-1991 models are most desirable because of the loaded options that came with the vehicle such as 360 V8 motors with heavy duty transmissions (for towing & off roading) power seats, power windows, wood grain dash, power rear tailgate, leather interior, air conditioning, & 4 x 4 suspension. The Grand Wagoneer was one of the longest production runs of any Jeep vehicle. The powerful V8 engine and high towing capacity made the Grand Wagoneer popular among its many repeat buyers, and as of 1991, it was the longest domestically produced vehicle (29 years) on the same platform. There were only 10,159 Wagoneer's made in 1989 Maintenance on this vehicle & upgrades: The lock out hubs were added, along with a new Stereo and Speakers front & rear. I had a new headliner professionally installed. The interior is in excellent shape, but the driver seat stitching is starting to separate a little. (see photo) I also just spent $1500 last fall at a professional A/C shop, and completely rebuilt the A/C system. I added an electric fan to keep the motor extra cool here in Florida during the hot summer months. The electric fan only runs when the A/C is on. Everything works and it's fun to drive! The Mud Terrain tires have less than 2000 miles on them mounted on quality Mickey Thompson wheels, not the cheap aftermarket foreign wheels. Even though we don't have emissions laws here in Florida, I kept the exhaust system stock and quiet. If your state has emissions, it should pass, but there is no guarantee. It's never been off road other than to unload our Kayak at the boat dock. We hate to sell, but we have had our fun with it, and now it just sits in my garage. I am restoring two other Wagoneer's, another 89 model, and a 91 model. I need the space and can't keep them all. The Kayak is "Not" included in this sale, unless you want to deal with my wife... Exterior Condition: The paint is extremely nice and better than average. It was probably repainted a few years back. I would say on 1-to10 scale, it's a strong 8, but then again I am very picky. The exterior stainless trim and bumpers are in excellent shape. The wood trim is in nice condition, but there is some minor fading on the sides. Interior Condition: The power windows and power seats work fine. The carpet is in excellent condition. New headliner, Stereo & Speakers installed (front & rear). All the gauges work fine. Drivers seat stitching has small stitch pulling apart (see photo) will try to have it repaired before vehicle is picked up. Power Train & Suspension: Motor,Transmission, Carburetor & Suspension- Springs-Shocks, Front End & Rear End, brakes were all either rebuilt or replaced before we bought it. This vehicle runs and drives excellent. About me: I am a private collector of classic vehicles of Muscle cars, Trucks & S.U.V's. I am "Not" a dealer, nor am I an expert on vehicles. I grew up around the auto industry. I'm very picky about my cars, some say too picky. Most of them are well documented low mileage- numbers matching cars, with personal history from the owners. To see more photos of this Jeep Wagoneer:> http://savethecars.com/1989_Jeep_Wagoneer.html My two other Jeep Wagoneer's (1989 & 1991) will be for sale in the next month or so along with other Classic Muscle Cars. On Jan-25-11 at 16:12:17 PST, seller added the following information: Ok ladies and gentlemen, 32 emails in the first day, most of them were just to ask what the reserve price is. Most of the emails are not even from bidders on this auction. Oh yeah, I pretty familiar with the ebay, games from other sellers trying to figure out what their vehicle is worth so they shoot of emails asking prices so they can compare, or they will try to lure buyers to their auction or website for the vehicle they are selling. So let me say "A Reserve Auction Means Just That" Unless you want to make an appointment or send someone to my house to inspect the Wagoneer or with the cash, the reserve will not be disclosed. Please no more emails just inquiring about the reserve. If you have a question about the condition, please call me after 5pm. I will tell you this... My reserve price is less than half the cost of the restoration to one of these Wagooner’s. I only sell quality restored or original type vehicles. You can verify who I am on my own site @ savethecars.com or my about me page here on ebay. Serious bidders & buyers, please call me with any questions. On Jan-30-11 at 03:14:20 PST, seller added the following information: Ok, the reserve was met so it will be selling to the highest bidder. Don't worry about storage. Once it's paid for (under the listed terms) and if needed, I can store it my warehouse for a couple (2 or 3) weeks for "Free"So the buyer can make shipping arrangements. Truckers usually give pretty good rates for vehicles leaving Florida at this time of the year forvehicles transported up north or to the mid-west. They can usually beat the airlines in the cost of a plane ticket, especially at this time of the year.I would like to personally thank all of the bidders & ebayers for all the interest in my Jeep Wagoneer. "Good Luck To All Of You"
