Vehicle Detail

Up or auction is this 1975 Triumph T-160. This bike was sold new here at Big D Cycle in February of 1976 This is a two owner motorcycle with a little over twelve thousand original miles. It is titled and the frame and motor numbers match. You can view a video of this bike starting and running below. This bike has been well taken care of for the past 35 years. It has been serviced here at our shop in Dallas exclusively. This bike has never left the DFW area. Last year we redid the entire brake system for the previous owner. We have the original sale paperwork to go with this bike. The bike is not entirely original, but it is a very nice T-160. It has a three into one exhaust, and the tank was repainted years ago. The paint is the original scheme and colors, and it looks good. Also, the airbox has been removed in favor of K&N filters , we do not have a stock airbox setup to sell with this. Other than that, the bike is nice and stock. You could source an airbox and OEM exhaust to make this 100% correct. The bike needs a newer battery with enough cranking power to operate the starter. The battery currently in it, does not have the power to turn the starter over fast enough. The starter motor does work, and would be operable with a modern fresh battery. It was 25 degrees Fahrenheit when we took the video of the bike starting and running. As you can see in the video, it comes right to life from a cold start. We are offering this bike at no reserve. This is a chance for you to win a very nice and maintained T-160. Although this is a very nice example of a T-160, it is a 35 year old bike; and it will be sold as is. The winning bidder should be knowledgeable of all the quirks and maintenance needs of a vintage British motorcycle. We will sell this bike worldwide. International motorcycle shipments are expensive and require crates made of certified wood. Please look into transport costs before placing an overseas bid. We will assist the buyer in packing and shipping, but all costs are the responsibility of the buyer. If this bike sells inside the USA, we will strap it to a pallet and ship it with the cheapest route we find on freightquote dot com. It should not be more than $650 to ship this bike anywhere in the continental United States. International bidders, please estimate your own shipping costs. $500 deposit is required within two days from auction end; full payment must be made within two weeks. On Jan-21-11 at 12:15:17 PST, seller added the following information: IF THE WINNING BIDDER IS A RESIDENT OF THE STATE OF TEXAS, THEY WILL HAVE TO PAY TAX, TITLE, AND LICENSE. WE WILL THEN TAKE CARE OF TRANSFERRING THE TITLE TO THE WINNING BIDDER.
