Vehicle Description This 1980 Westfalia pop-top camper is a clean & rust free original example of a type-22. This westy has been restored to operating condition over the last 2 months after being stored for the last 2 years in the inland empire of So. Cal. It sleeps 4 very comfortably. Comes with sink & icebox. It is a pleasure to drive. You can expect about 19mpg. Additional photos will be made available on request. Mechanical A newly rebuilt 2.0L air cooled engine with less than one hour run time was installed last week (I do reserve use of the camper during the auction period). 2 new heads & a new piston set were installed. All new bearing inserts were installed on the crankshaft, camshaft & rod journals. It runs very smoothly and has great power. Brakes have been bled and work great. The tires have 80% tread. Comes with 4 Vanagon alloy rims. The exhaust O2 sensor appears to be the original and deserves replacement as does the catalytic converter to get smogged in California. All lights work. Body The body is without any major rust. There is some minor spots at the lower glass areas (see photos). The camper was re-painted light blue by a prior owner. It is showing age but will look good in any driveway. It has some small dents and dings. Interior The interior has been cleaned and detailed. The upholstery on the front & rear seats shows well. Door panels are in excellent condition. Carpet is in good condition with some small spoting. The pop-top canvas is new (installed yesterday). The camper has a sink however the water pump and reservoir are missing. Also included is the original rear hatch screen. Disclaimer This vehicle is sold AS-IS with no warranty. This is a pre-owned Westfalia camper in a partial state of restoration. While it is in good condition it is not new. This used car is subject to normal wear and tear and may have scratches and dings or wear associated with the car's age and stated mileage.
