I am selling my moms 2002 Chevrolet Impala, It has 112k miiles on it. It isnt in BAD shape but it does have issues. Main issue, The motor has had it. The head gaskets have failed, and it overheats quickly after it is started. It has also developed a pretty good knock, it sounds like it is in the top end, I almost think it has a bent push rod, but havent opened the motor up to check ( it does have a skip as well, wheich re-inforces my theory) Secondary minor issues. There is some pretty minor rust, the fuel door is rusted, and some minor surface rust on left rear quarter. I hope it can be seen in the pics. Also hard to see in the pics is a pretty good sized dent in the left rear quarter, which was compliments of my dads skid steer door swinging into it. There are quite a few scratches on it, mostly from her stupid cats climbing all over it. Third and most annoying.... The Blower motor resistor is bad, and the heater only works on high. Fourth, the right outer tie rod needs to be replaced, This has been an annual event for this car since it was new. It has had at LEAST 8 right outer tie rod ends. not sure why. Motor issues aside, The car is a good solid car. I had intentions od repairing it and driving it, but I am closing my auto repair shop on Feb. 1st, and I need to liquidate this and many other vehicles. and equipment. The car DOES run and drive. I wouldnt drive it ANYWHERE. I would load it on a trailer and take it to be repaired. I can arrange a motor and installaion, but dont have time to do it myself, otherwise I would... The car is far too nice to junk it, so I am going this route. Included with the car, 3 studded snows ( one was damaged in the sidewall, and I threw it away ) Also ( unrealated ) one of the alloy wheels was cracked, and I have one steel wheel on it. The tires on it are not great, Brakes are good, body good, trans very good, interior good, no tears rips. everything works, Power moonroof, cd ac power everything. Cloth seats. remote entry. etc etc etc
