Vehicle Detail
This is my 1992 Dodge D150 1/2 ton Regular Cab/Long Box pickup. 5.2 Ltr engine, Auto transmission, 4X4 Pickup. I bought this pickup in July 2010 from a private seller in Comstock Nebraska and instantly fell in love with it! I drove it from central Nebraska to Denver every weekend until mid-October.Then in the middle of Nowhere Eastern Colorado the Transmission went out. I was towed to a repair shop and $1800.00 later it was not working still. I had to pull the plug and stop the cash bleeding so the tranny is still out. The Good - New tires on the front (600 miles ago) Front end was aligned (600 miles ago) Repaired/flushed the radiator Replaced a couple of u-joints on front drive line Front diff/transfer case run quiet Rear diff runs quiet Front axles had been rebuilt before I got it Drives Great! 4WD works great with no front end or transfercase noises or whinning. Body does not rattle like a pickup of that age might. The pickup sat for 2 months, turn the key and it fired up on the first time it turned over. The guy I bought it from said the engine had been rebuilt 30,000 miles ago but had no documentation for it. I believe it by the way it runs and it would use less than a quart of oil in 3000 mile service intervals. Clear Nebraska title in hand. The Bad - Transmission is out A/C holds pressure and freon is full but no power to the clutch crack in the front winshield, odometer reads 215,000 but does not work, cruise control does not work. Bought a tow bar to bring it home and will include it for additional $100.00 ($150.00 new) I was planning to finish the pickup and be my daily driver but I bought a Jeep cherokee so now the pickup must go. On Jan-18-11 at 09:06:44 PST, seller added the following information: I have had several questions come up in messages I'd like to address. Is the transmission out but intact? - The repair shop pulled the pan off and found metal and burnt oil so I pulled the plug at that point and stopped the cash bleeding. So all parts were never removed from the tranny. How is the floor board? - I pulled the old carpet up this summer and the floor board paint was shiney and in good shape. The metal is in very good shape on the floorboard. How is the cab right above the windshield? - The paint is thin in spots and has surface rust only, NO bad rust is evident at all, no bubbling, no uglys. How does it run otherwise? The engine runs great, Like I said it sat for 2 months this winter and it fired up the first time the engine turned over. Engine is great! runs very good. Any other questions I will be glad to answer, This is a transmission away from a very good daily pickup. Thanks tcnma76
