Vehicle Detail
sadly having to part with one of my favorite cars, my 1974 peugeot 504 sedan. 67,157 actual miles. comes with original owners manual and service coupon book. i am the 3rd owner. car has always been local to the eastern pa,nj area. car fully runs and drives and is currently tagged and insured as a Pa. antique car. if the buyer is from Pa i will happily transfer the current antique tag to them. the peugeot was my daily driver for awhile and then when i put antique tags on it has since been my backup car/weekend car the last 3 years. the 2 ltr twin carb engine starts and runs well, though would benefit from a good carb cleaning. i converted the ignition system to electronic with new wires, plugs and a peugeot dist & coil. i will include for the buyer the original points type ignition sytem. no wires where cut in the conversion. lights, wipers, heat, locks, doors, windows all work. the original wipers switch is broken,( i made a temp switch for me), but is included. i had to install a push button starter switch(still use key though). car comes with all original "french" keys including one for the original locking gas cap(which works). sunroof is manual(thank god) and works great and doesn't leak either. Ac does work but there is a pinhole leak in the condensor and anything you charge it with will leak out overnight. it is a generic american (mccord) condensor that shouldn't be hard to find or very expensive. no radio, but a nice pair of aftermarket speakers in the rear deck and all the radio wiring is all there in the console to be hooked up. all 4 tires are in excellent shape with less than 5k miles on them. brakes and e-brake both work but you will need brake pads soon. trans has one chipped tooth on the reverse gear. it's clicks when you back up. otherwise it shifts beautifully. interior is the much nicer early pattern, there are some misc tears, cracks etc but overall nice and original. trunk is huge and doesn't leak either. the body is really good, especially considering it is an east coast car. it has had one respray in its life which has faded to a real nice burgundy/purple. doorjams, trunk etc are all still original paint and shine up nice. the marks down the side are the unfaded paint from where i peeled off the crappy stick on trim. there are only a couple rust spots. one is behind the back wheel (see pics) next to the muffler and some in the very back inside of the trunk. the rear passenger floor has a spot and another spot on the drivers rocker. there of course is minor surface rust in various spots but a very solid car overall. i have owned lots of peugeots and this is the best 504 sedan i have ever had. it is definately useable in it's current condition but should have fluids changed, new brakepads and some general checking and tinkering done. i would really hate to see it as a daily commuter car. instead it is a good weekend, flea market, sunday driver etc. with a new paint job and some minor touch ups could be a very presentable show car. email me if you are a serious buyer, with cash, and want to see, drive and buy the car. i need to pay bills so this has to go asap! i am also only 4miles from the train/amtrak station and will happily pick you up if you buy this and want to drive it home.
