I am listing this ad for my friend, if you have any questions you need answered, please send me your phone number and I will have him call you directly. I am not responsible for any portion of the ad, I am just strictly listing it for the seller. Your bidding on a 1929 Ford hot rod, rat rod, old school, however you want to look at it pickup. The other cars in the photo are not for sale at this time. The car is custom built by Gene Bliss who owns a 50’s themed restaurant called the Hot Rod Grill and the builder of many cars. The Hot Rod Grill had been featured in Hot Rod Magazine and one of his creations can be seen by going to youtube.com and typing in “Insane 56 Chevrolet pickup”. It can also be seen in Street Truck Magazine. BODY – The body started out as a 1929 Ford Sedan. We started by chopping the top 8 inches in the front and then 6 inches in the back. We removed 21 inches out of the middle of the car and wedged the top to give it the extended cab look. The rear side windows were extended 6 inches to give it that right proportioned look. The roof has a custom recessed ragtop which slides forward and back if you feel like having the sun beam down on you as you cruise. If it gets too hot outside, slide it forward and latch it for the shade. Located inside the cab is an aluminum “bitchen” battery box, shut off switch for the battery. There is a custom built, 32 style dash extended 5 inches out to cover all the electrical wiring, fuse panel, switches, Kugal power brakes, etc. In the dash there is a custom aluminum dash panel which holds the Stewart Warner wing gauges. The side windows in both doors and the extended portion of the cab are powered and tinted glass. The door handle to open the doors from the inside are constructed out of BBC aluminum connecting rods. The shifter is a hurst lightening rod with skulls on each handle. The seats are aluminum bomber seats that are cushioned with the round holes in the them. There are lap belts in each seat. The bed is custom hand built which if you look close in the picture you can see the bed wrap around following the contour of the body to give it a complete look. There are custom fins off the bed and a lowered tailgate. Hand built custom roll pan with powered drop down license plate. The tail lights are 1939 teardrops. The fuel tank mounted in the bed is spun aluminum with sending unit. PAINT – The paint is a semi -gloss black with subtle pinstriping and door graphics done by Patrick at Artworks Unlimited. FRAME – The frame is custom built Macs Ratz 2x3 tubing with holes in the rails in front. The rear has a 13 inch “Z” design and a 4 link set-up. The rear differential is an 8.8 inch out of a Ford Explorer which has 3:73 gears, factory posi unit, 31 spline hardened axles and factory disc brakes. There are custom brackets on the 8.8 inch for the spring 4 link and the custom friction shocks. The front end is a suicide design on a model “A” spring. The axle is a Super Bell 4 inch drop, split and drilled wishbone with custom friction shocks. Most of the suspension components are aluminized ceramic coated. The front brakes are SoCal Speed Shop Wilwood disc brakes hidden under finned buick drums. Very high tech but old school. There is a side cowl steering unit with Ford steering box. There is minor play in the box but the truck goes straight down the road. WHEELS AND TIRES – The wheels are Vintique Steel in a black powder coat mounted with Firestone cheater slicks. The front tires are dirt track. The wheels have ribbed stainless trim and bullet center caps. There are 10 bullet lugs on each wheel. ENGINE – As you can see the engine is not your run of the mill small block. This truck is powered by a built 1957 392 Hemi. Thousands were spent on the engine alone. The engine was custom machined by Automotive Machine Services and then built by close friend Ken Larson who does all of the engine work for Bliss. The engine has 4 bolt aluminum main caps. Ross forged pistons, PAW custom hydraulic cam with matching valve springs, double roller timing chain, HV oil pump, Complete re-worked hemi heads. With rare Mickey Thomspon valve covers. MSD Pro Billet Dist, Mallory Coil, Edelbrock 6 deuce carb set-up. The engine runs on the two center carbs alone but you can convert to run on all 6 if you wish. Hard lined for the fuel system with electric fuel pump. Deep sump pan, Weiand BBC aluminum water pump conversion, custom brackets, aluminum pulleys. The carbs have 6 polished aluminum skulls with each skull containing 7 spike studs in each head. The eyes in each skull can light up red and looks really cool anytime of the day, especially at night. The exhaust was hand built with each cylinder getting it’s own muffler. The 8 mega phone exhaust uses car chemistry mufflers. They were built out of 2 inch mandrell bends which sound and look excellent on the truck. Once the header exhaust was done it was sent away for ceramic coating. This is a one off custom exhaust built by Bliss. The engine is cooled through a chopped aluminum model “A” radiator with a custom built spider web grill. The transmission is a TH350 with a PAW Transmission adaptor which mounts up to the big hemi. The truck has a brand new driveshaft assembly. This truck was built with no expense spared, to duplicate this truck would cost thousands of dollars. The truck from ground to top of the roof is at 45.5 inches. It looks cool, runs excellent and turns heads every where it goes. As you can see in some of the photos attached, the cars Gene Bliss has built are all about quality. In the photos you see, the 31 Ford Sedan which was built by Gene Bliss and all engine and trans work done by his friend, Ken Larson. The world famous “Defibrillator” 33 Ford was acquired just two weeks ago by a trade of a 36 Ford 3 window he had just finished. The car is in one of the photos. The only car your bidding on is the 29 Ford pickup. On Jan-02-11 at 19:35:32 PST, seller added the following information: For those who are interested in looking at the Insane 56 Chevrolet truck that I referred to youtube. You have to type in "Insane 56 Chevrolet". I added the word pickup to it and the video does not come up. Ron Smith purchased the truck from Bliss and produced the video.
