It has a 350 V8 engine and a turbo 350 (TH350) automatic transmission. Dana 44 rear axle, Coporate GM 10 bolt front axle. Manual locking front hubs. The running gear is all 1987 Chevy pickup in good shape. No locking differentials. The engine and trans are very clean. They were recently rebuilt but there is a ticking sound coming from the engine. Sounds like a header exhaust leak but I can't find it by feeling around the flanges. Runs very well. Sounds great otherwise. Four barrel Holley Carburetor. Aluminum intake manifold and rocker covers. This vehicle is turnkey and ready to drive. It goes down the road straight. Power brakes and steering work well. Windshield wipers, lights, stereo, heater all work well. All windows roll up and down nicely. Doors open and close nicely. Rear tailgate and hatch open and close nicely. Most weather stripping is new (felt around windows, front door seals, rear hatch seal). New weather stripping for the rear doors is included but not yet installed. The interior is mostly redone. Custom door panels were made and custom carpeting was installed. The front buckets are aftermarket. The rear seat is stock and although the upholstery is intact it needs to be recovered to match the rest of the interior. The headliner is in poor condition and needs to be replaced. I did not build this wagon. I have built two 4x4 wagons, a 1981 Mercedes Turbo Diesel wagon and a 1975 Volvo with Chevy running gear. This one was done about as well as the better of the two I built (the MB). Here is a picture if you're interested: http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r12/914turboford/4x4_mb_300td.jpg The basic conversion was well thought out and turned out pretty good. The proportions look good. It now sits on nearly new Cooper Discoverer 33/12.5/15 tires on six lug chrome baby moon rims. The body is rubber mounted. There was some rust repair done to the floor under the rear seat. It was done with flat panels, not formed repair panels. The body is pretty solid overall but some rust remains here and there underneath and in the interior. The body work is a bit wavy in a few spots, most notably under the driver's side tail light. The paint job is about four years old. No bubbling to the paint. It has some orange peel in places but I think it would really shine if block sanded. The car looks clean overall and you don't notice the imperfections until you've spent some time looking it over. The under side, including the truck chassis was all cleaned and painted. The car starts, stops, turns, brakes, steers and drives well. However, the rear springs (or maybe just the shocks) are a bit too soft. The exhaust consists of headers and glass packs which dump right about behind the front seats. The car is not overly loud. The mufflers are not mounted right. They need to be rubber mounted but are just wired up at this time. The car has a brand new 18 gallon racing fuel cell. The filler neck leaks a little but there are no other leaks in the car. The four wheel drive all works. The transfer case shifter is mounted in front of the center console and works well. The car includes a clean (not salvaged) California Title. Registered as the 1955 Chevy wagon. Exempt from emissions testing in California because of the year. The registration tags expired in early December and the car is on planned non-op status right now. Please ask any questions you might have. I will try to answer promptly. If you have any concerns please resolve them before bidding.
