Vehicle Detail
Acquired this workhorse four years ago to do snackbar/grocery and supply runs for our Drive-in movie theatre, and she has never let us down. Still solid, with very little rust, and only minor quirks and blemishes, there's still a lot of life and miles left in the old gal for someone more interested in utility than appearances. On the road right up until October of this year - when the registration came up for renewal again, and I made the decision to sell it rather than to continue to carry the insurance and renew the registration. No known mechanical issues other than needing to have the alternator replaced. That aside, she starts right up. No issues that have prevented it it from passing inspection. It has never been involved in an accident (aside from a close encounter with a deer, which did cause some minor cosmetic damage to the plastic grill in the front), and the tires are in very good shape. This model has four doors, a hatchback that swings up, a roof rack, and a moon roof. The rear seat folds down for additional cargo space. Burns very little oil for its age (and does not smoke or fume), and has been decent on gas. Quirks: The power seats still function, but the power window on the front-passenger side isn't working. Have the door keys and the ignition key, but the key for the hatch in back has been lost (in other words, it opens and closes, but will have to be re-keyed to be able to lock it). There is a scratch at the extreme left on the driver's side of the windshield (but not serious - still passes inspection). The framing around the little triangular louver windows on the drivers side will eventually need to be replaced (only place where what little rust there is becomes an issue), and the speedometer cable needs to be replaced. In other words: cosmetic and minor nuisances, which do not affect how the car runs. Once again, for someone more interested in the utility and reputation of a JEEP Cherokee more than its appearance in this case, this is going to be a very good value; it is being listed here with no hidden reserve, and a low opening bid. The vehicle is located in upstate New York (Dutchess County), approximately midway between Manhattan and Albany. If you have any specific questions that I haven't answered here, feel free to ask .. and I will try to respond quickly .. or, eMail me your phone number and the best time to call. Deposit Payment ($500) will be required via PayPal within 48 hours of end of auction. And the balance can also be paid in PayPal, or with CA$H (in-person), or with USPS MoneyOrder (by mail), and is due within 7 days of the end of auction. I can also hold onto the vehicle for the winning bidder - if necessary, for up to 30 days after paymen, and at no additional charge, to allow you plenty of time to arrange to pick it up or to transport it. A spare battery and a spare tire for the Cherokee will be included in the sale. On Dec-22-10 at 17:19:12 PST, seller added the following information: I also have an itemized receipt from last year for $492 in parts and labor to replace the front brake pads, and rotors, and to install new front hub assembly (and the same garage had replaced the brake lines as well), so the brakes should still have a lot of life left in them.
