Even though the 1978 280Z is showing its age, and it is around 30 years old, the outside of a preserved car looks as though it could have been built yesterday. With recessed headlights, a very aggressive front bumper, swooped windshield and chopped off back end, the 280Z was ahead of it's time in 1978, and it still looks amazing today. Few modern cars have the potential to match the Z in terms of looks and appearance. It looks sporty yet professional, just as at home on a track or going to a business lunch. Even though the large metal bumpers on the front and back may seem a bit strange with today's visual standards, they definitely add something unique to the car, and they provide a look that is really unparalleled in today's world. However, what really makes the 280Z so special is not the inside or outside appearance of the vehicle, it is the way in which it drives, which it commands the road and the degree to which the driver commands the car. Quite simply, no modern car can provide the experience of the 280Z. With it's small size, low ground clearance, and two seats, the 280 makes the driver feel as if he or she is in complete and total command of the car. A couple minutes spent driving the 280Z is all it takes to make one feel as if the driver and the car have become one. This 1978 280Z is a one owner car that purchased the car new in 1979 for $8700. It has 144,000 original miles. Engine and Transmission was rebuilt in 2005. Exterior was done at the same time. Clearcoat on paint job blistered. Engine Runs very strong, but car is registered as a non-op. No major dents or dings in body. (see pictures) Needs Paint job and Tires. Automatic transmission and Fuel injection were dealer options. Nice black interior with diamond stitching on doors and headliner. Black carpet. No cracks in dash or seats. Rust around the radio antennae base. Original Suspension.
