THIS IS A NICE, ORIGINAL, LOW MILEAGE AND RARE FACTORY 5- SPEED, LIMITED SLIP,1988 BMW 635csi. IT IS AUTOCHECK CERTIFIED WITH AN ABOVE-AVERAGE RATING. If you are going to get an E24, 6-Series, then you want a 1988 or 1989 model. They have: More horsepower; Handle better; Look better due to stylisic changes and better interior; and have better a better engine management system. And if you want a 635csi five-speed, you want to buy one that has a factory 5-speed with a factory limited slip differential. Converting a 635csi to a five-speed with limited slip is expensive and something always goes wrong. The problem is that a 1988 635csi with factory five-speed and limited slip differential is very rare. WELL HERE IS ONE THEM. This factory 5-Speed 1988 635csi that was stored for approximately ten years. The previous owner took very good care of the vehicle and obviously did not want to let it go. Consequently they stored it for approximately ten years. It is currently registered in California as Non-Operational and according to the CA DMV Office Registration Calculator, it would be $99.00 at the date of this listing to currently register the vehicle. This 635csi passed the stringent California smog with sterling numbers, attributable to the condition of the engine and overall mechanial nature of the vehicle: The max at 15 mph for HC (PPM) is 112 and average is 31, this 635csi measured 5; the max for CO (%) is .72 with average at .10, this 635csi measured .00; the max for NO (PPM) is 778 with average 237, this 635csi measured 27. The figures were even better at 25 mph. Nothwithstanding this vehicle is 22 years old and not perfect. It still does still have the TRX tires and wheels. Although the tires all have alot of thread on them, the 635csi was stored for ten years and the tires will need replacing as they are cracking badly and are in need a balancing. The air conditioner I was told was working fine, but since non-use during the ten years of storage, the air conditioner will need to be recharge as it is not blowing cold. The driver seat does have a couple of seams that are tearing as noted in the picture. The carpet is in good shape with the exception of the driver side. I don't know what happened but it is in very poor shape and will need to be replaced or should be replaced to match the overall condition of the vehicle. There is a small dent on the passenger rear conner. The original radio will need acode from the dealer as I do not have it. There is a slight vibration, that I believe is due to the tires, but overall the steering is tight and rides exceptionally nice. Notwithstanding the above, this is a very nice BMW factory 5 speed 635csi with factory installed limited- slip. This is an original vehicle that has not been modified in any way with the exception that I can tell of 750il bushing on the upper control arms. The engine runs perfect and the transmission shifts flawslessly. I have changed all fluids on the vehicle since it has been out of storage. All electronics appear to be working fine. The rear self-levelling works perfectly. The paint is bronzitbeige-metallic and it is in very nice shape for being 22 years old. There is no clear-coat fading and still has a nice shine along with the orignial pin-stripes. There appears to be a complete toolkit in the rear trunk. With the exception of the driver seat most all other leather on the vehicle is in good shape including the driver handrail and door panels. The front spoiler appears to have been reinforced and redone as it is in great shape, as well as the rear speaker covers. There is no leaks anywhere that I can find. I've had it the garage now for some time and nothing has dripped on the ground. I may have missed something here or there as its has its flaws here and there, but the drivetrain is in very good condition and it is a very rare and desireable 1988, factory 5-speed with limited slip differential. Now you can spend 5k for a 635csi and then another 3k to convert it to 5-speed and installed a limited slip differently, or you can buy this one at a fraction of that costs. I have a low reserve on the vehicle. This vehicle is being SOLD AS IS, and the above and any wording in this listing was merely descriptive and not a warranty of any type. Thus there is no warranty of any kind. Shipping will be up to the buyer. Pickups are welcome, but I do not recommend long trips with this tires on the vehicles.
