Hello VW lovers young and old. I have here a 1979 Volkswagen Super Beetle Convertible Karman Edition that is a life long California car and is an Original Alpine White triple white beetle that I have tons of paperwork from the second owner that purchased the car from El Camino Bank in Tustin California on April 13,1984 for $6,523.56 and has the clear original small California title dated back till 1984 when the car was only 4 years old. It has stacks of paperwork for maintence and everything in between. This beetle was well loved and parked in a climate controlled garage with a tarp over it when not in use according to the grandson who received this car as a gift from his grandmother and he was not a beetle guy and passed it onto me and now I'm offering it to the winning bidder going No Reserve. I restore beetle convertibles and travel all over California and pass over many more then I ever buy and I'm sure you have heard others say how great their car is but compared to over 50 beetle convertibles I have bought and personally own , this is one of the top 5 I have ever found. The body is so straight and no dents , dings or Rust of any kind and the floors are as good as they get and you could feel comfortable making this into a show car with such pristine floor pans and not all cobbled up or hacked up. It is very difficult to find an underbody that is as good as this one because of the battery being located on the passenger side under the back seat. When the older original batteries got hot they would leak battery acid which rusted out the floor pans in that area or being a convertible the top was left open and rain got in. You have none of those problems with this one and has never been in any accidents and had it's original paint up until 2 weeks ago when I had it repainted. All windows ,trim beading removed for a professional job . I know I'm going to catch someone that is going to ask "Why would you repaint if it is original?" The answer is,although it was original and in good shape , it was not perfect and was showing it age and I thought this one this nice deserved to look its best .While we were at it , we replaced the door panels and seat covers and added a new dash cap and new sun visors ,new gravel guards front and back . The convertible top,headliner and padding was only a couple years old and in near perfect condition so we left it alone. It has a wonderful tight fit and whoever did it, did a great job. The tires are also in very good condition and are high end firestones on a Rivera type rim that looks very nice. The rest of the car is over 30 years old and the motor was rebuilt about 20,000 miles ago and has met smog in the past smog year . It passed in 2008 but if it stays in California buyer will be responsible for smog as each country is different.Ok, now of course not everything is perfect being over 30 years old and condition is in my opinion far above others I have seen and owned but if in doubt please come in person or have an independent inspector come for you prior to bidding or buying or end of auction. All information I have based off of receipts I have been given and what was told to me . The transmission,clutch,brakes ,lights are all in good working order and this car was a daily driver up until a few months ago and there is no reason for me to disagree with them. There was some cracks in the dash and the rubber mats are getting tired ,there is a knob or two missing and the back seat is only for pictures but I do have a back seat and the material to include a back seat but it is located in my storage locker in the bay area. I can not get away this week to go get it but once I am paid I will be more then happy to make the trip and include the new back seat. I have sold many beetles online and locally from the local Veterinarian to a nice chap from Germany and also a deputy Sheriff from San Jose. What separates me from others , I am not selling this car because I am sick of it ,because it's on it's last leg or every other excuse that is out there. I love beetles , I drive beetles and I personally own them and restore them for others . So I am not emotionally connected to the cars and I put money into the cars instead of just selling them like most do. That is why my cars have new paint jobs and restored anywhere from driver to all out show car . This is right now a good driver and could be much much more . Full payment needs to be paid in 72 hours or 3 days of auctions end and because this auction is ending on a Saturday payment should be made no later then Tuesday morning by wire transfer or bank certified check that needs to be over nighted to be here no later then Tuesday and no cashiers checks and of course cash in person. I have the clear open California title in hand .No paypal please. . The car is being sold as is and all sales are final and jurisdiction is limited to San Luis Obispo Country in Ca.and all costs are at buyers expense.
