This is the first year of the series 4 Alfa Romeo spider, which is considered the most desirable as they came with the Motronic fuel system, power steering, power windows, power brakes, power mirrors, AC, plus much more. Car runs and drives good but could use some TLC. According to the VIN history the car was involved in a front end accident with a Moped in 1991 and another front end accident in 1999. I see no signs of frame damage or metal repairs underneath. Insurance companies will normally total a car on anything but a fender bender and since this car has a clear title I must assume the accidents were not serious. Engine is strong and car runs and stops good. Gearbox shifts well with good synchros. Most of the electrical stuff works, including the clock but a few things, such as the heater fan, need attention. There are cracks on the top of the dash. This seems to be a common problem as I have seen several Spiders with a piece of carpeting that covers the top of the dash. The check engine light is on and I have not figured out how to reset it. The soft top back plastic has a crack, the top itself is in good condition. You should be able to simply have the back plastic replaced. Paint looks okay from 15 feet but up close you can see some dents, crack, paint chips, touch up, etc. I would categorize the paint quality as "fair". The body itself is straight and rust free. Interior has a few loose items that could be re-glued but overall is not too bad. Seats do not have cracks or broken seams. Tires are good. Glass is good. I have not driven it long distances but I assume it would do fine. Includes original manuals in pouch, jack and tools.
