You are bidding on a very nice, original 78 Ford F150. This long bed Ford has the big 400 ci engine, automatic transmission, air conditioning, tilt, cruise control, power steering power disc brakes, dual tanks and more. You will be hard-pressed to find another one in this condition, for this price. This is a Texas truck that has very little rust. Runs and drives great. Fly in and drive home. Here are some highlights and areas of concern: the good: very original only one repaint - 20 year old paint (my dad painted this truck for the prior owner) still shows well relatively clean interior runs and drives fantastically solid truck new or rebuilt recently - radiator, alternator, regulator, wheel cylinders driven regularly very little rust Although I can't confirm, I believe the miles are 51600. This truck was owned by the same family for years, and was driven by an elderly man that didn't drive much. My dad knows the truck because he painted it about 20 years ago, and he is of the belief that the miles are right. The prior owner has since passed, so I cannot confirm the miles. I purchased the truck from his son. cruise control works! the bad: paint is 20 years old. has minor dents and dings, and some fading and sun checking. it's a 20-footer. there is a significant dent on the top of the tailgate, making it hard to open. tires are not great. but they match and they're useable very minor rust - some rust through in the front floors, and a couple of spots in the bed because of a plastic bed liner. overall, very solid auxiliary fuel tank is not registering on the fuel gauge. I've been running it off of one tank. the gauge works on the primary tank. i'm not sure if the tank switch works. a/c needs freon, but is complete needs a driver's side inside door handle. it hesitates going into gear when cold. transmission shifts and works fine otherwise This is a nice old truck that I've owned and used for about a year and a half. It is a joy to drive, and will provide many more years of faithful service, or serve as a fantastic platform for restoration. Buy it now and reserve are set very low.
