1976 Pontiac Trans Am This is a beautiful 1976 Pontiac Trans Am. It is a numbers matching, PHS documented southern car. It has the Pontiac 400 L-80 motor with automatic transmission and posi-traction. It was repainted in 2008 and is a stunning black on black combination with the Limited Edition (Gold German Script) graphics package that was available in 1976. The original color combination was Sterling Silver (13) with black interior. I would rate the paint as an 8 on at scale of 10. It has won numerous car show awards this year. The floors, frame and trunk are rust free and are in remarkable condition.. The car has 117,000 original miles. The car is mechanically sound and everything works as it should including the factory air conditioning. I am the fourth owner. The car sold new in Greenville SC in 1976 and spent the last 34 years there. This car was garage kept throughout its life and has avoided the elements that have destroyed so many others. The standard black interior is in very good condition. I would rate the interior as an 8 on a scale of 10. There is a small (3 inch) crack in the top of the dash and the stitching has come loose in a small section of the passenger seat back on the outer seam. I am in the process of replacing the factory Rally II wheels with a gold set of honeycomb wheels and have 2 restored wheels and a complete set of new center caps that will go with the car. I have considerable documentation including current GA title in my name and copies of the previous titles issued in SC along with vintage Polaroid photos of the car from the second owner. I also have the original build sheet, owners manual and service guide along with the dealership brochure. This is an excellent opportunity to own a rare car and a sound investment for the future.
