Vehicle Detail
I am selling a 1970 Torino GT two door hardtop. I am only the second owner. It was bought brand new where I live. The car is almost completely original. The only changes made were the wheels, grill, and exhaust. Wheels are off a 70s Cobra with perfect tires. The grill is cracked around the top so would need fixed or replaced. Exhaust consists of headers and glass packs, dumps behind the back tires. I also put on a brand new set of air shocks on for the new tires to clear. This car was always stored inside a garage so it still looks great. Original paint that still looks amazing when shined up. Theres a few little dings and scratches but nothing major. Just barely starting to show rust around the fenders. Also original interior which is almost flawless other than a tear in the driver side and small holes above the sun visor where the mice got into it. Glass is perfect. Still original motor (351 Cleveland), transmission (C4), and rearend (9inch w 3.00 gears). The motor was rebuilt in the early 90's. It was bored .30 and a slightly bigger cam installed. Has a slight lifter tick but doesnt use a drop of oil. Transmission shifts great and doesnt slip a bit. Leaks a little transmission fluid and power steering but was barely driven the last few years so the seals are dried up. The original wheels and hub caps will be sold on the car. If you want the wheels and tires that are on it in the photos, I have to have an extra $350. I would love to keep this car but I also have a 71 GT with a big block and dont have the storage room for both. [I also have a 351 Cleveland bolted to a good C4 automatic, and a 429 with a 4 speed bell housing Id like to sell for $1000 obo] The 351 is in a 70 Ranchero. Motor has a knock but its a virgin block, tranny is good. The 429 and bell housing are out of a 71 Torino. Supposed to be a good motor but Ive never torn it apart to see. If you are able to come see the car you can email me and I will contact you back.On Dec-02-10 at 18:50:07 PST, seller added the following information: I've had a few emails asking if I would take anything in trade. I want to sell because I need the space in my garage. Although I would be interested in trading for a running skid loader, or a 90's Dodge 4X4 w cummins and manual transmission in decent shape. Also for the two other motors I mentioned, the $1000 is for both of them. The Cleveland is still in the car and you car drive it, the 429 is out and I've never heard it run. I will take offers. On Dec-07-10 at 16:34:44 PST, seller added the following information: I forgot I had also converted the Torino from points to electronic ignition with an igniter. The car was going to be sold with the original intake and 2 barrel carb but I dont have to time or ambition to switch it out again. The intake on it now is a cast 4 barrel intake off of a 71 Mach 1 Mustang motor. It has the bigger square ports which is the more desired intake that year. I had the intake stripped and painted before I put it on and new intake gasket. You can see the nice blue paint in the pics. I have a 4 barrel Holley carb on it with electric choke and the Ford downshift. It is a 600 cfm and only a few years old. These Items items made a huge difference in the performance of the car and the buyer would be much more happy if they were left on. The number matching, original 2 barrel carb and intake also go with the car so you have all the original parts. Please consider this when bidding on the car. I would like to get my money back out of the parts because I am taking a several $1000 loss by selling this car. Just so I am clear, The 4 barrel intake and Holley carb are on the car now and the car will sell as is but I am also giving you the original 2 barrel carb and intake. Feel free to ask me anything about the car if you are unsure. I've also had several questions asking if the frame and floor pans are rusted. NO this car was very well taken care of, floor pans are solid, frame is in great shape along with whole underside of car. It was kept in a garage every time it was not driven. The only rust is shown in the pictures just barely starting behind the tires on the quarter panels. The original owner lived on a gravel road as do I which is the cause of the little rust it has. The tires that are on the original rims look good but I had one blow out so if you dont want to spend the extra $350 for the wheels and tires that are on it, I would not recommend driving on them very far. However the tires and wheels on it are well worth the money, they are in great shape and look great on the car. Hopefully I can answer your questions before the auction ends. Good luck!
