This is a 1999 Nissan Altima for sale. I bought this car on e-bay several years ago from the original owner who lived in Chicago. Therefore I am only the 2nd owner. The car does have rather high mileage, but runs great. Most of the miles are highway miles b/c I have taken many trips in this car. I will try and list all problems and issues that I know of. I have done most of the work to this car myself, and know it very well. Feel free to contact me with any questions Since I have owned the vehicle, the work that I have done was: - All oil changes on a regular basis- Changed the spark plugs 2x- Several transmission fluid changes- Paint & general rust touch-ups- Coolant flush- New battery & batter terminal- New break pads within the last year & 1/2 The issues/ concerns that I might have would be: -The transmission shifts well, but sometimes is a little slow to shift from 1st to 2nd. This is only happens when you accelerate really quickly, and has never been a problem. I just want any potential buyers to be aware of it. I have taken the transmission pan off 2x and cleaned out all debris in order for the transmission to be in clean condition. - There was a problem with the cooling system. The radiator was replaced and the car runs fine and does not over-heat. This was the only real work that I had a shop do (the rest has been general maintenance done by myself) - The front tires are acceptable, but worn down. I would highly recommend new snow tires if you will be driving it in winter conditions. I drove it for all the winters that I've owned it, and the past 2 winters I have been very cautious, b/c the front tires don't perform great in heavy snow. - It has slowly leaked oil in the past, but I tried to fix this issue. I believe that it no longer leaks, but if it still does it is very slow. - The exhaust sounds fine, but there is a small rattle b/c there is a loose bracket that I never replace. There is probably a little rust, but the exhaust is ok and not loud at all. - The front passenger window is slightly broken. It raises/ lowers fine from the driver side, but usually does not from the passenger side - The CD player does not work, but the cassette player does. The radio antenna was snapped off in a car wash, but the radio still works fine. - The exterior door locks are a little touchy. The passenger door lock does not work with the key. - There are quite a few aesthetic defects. Rust is developing in several places, but I usually grind it off & use touch-up paint a couple times each year. There are a couple small dents and paint chips. The car has been smoked in a lot so there are quite a few burn holes in the interior (but it smells great, b/c it hasn't been smoked in for some time).On Nov-27-10 at 17:34:40 PST, seller added the following information: Thank-you for viewing my 1999 Altima. I have had this car for 6 years and am the 2nd owner. I have maintained the car well and it is in great running condition. As with all used vehicles, there are minor defects and cosmetic faults. But the car runs great! Power locks & windows, cruise control, tinted rear windows, new battery and battery terminals, the transmission is good and shifts well, the breaks are in good condition. There are quite a few miles, but most of them are highway miles, I have taken many trips all around the East Coast with this car and never had any major problems with it. Most of the minor defects and small rust spots can be seen in the pictures. If you have any questions feel free to contact me.
