Vehicle Detail
This big convertible is ready for a new home! It's original, complete and unrestored, and does everything a car should....starts, runs, drives and stops. Everything works....except the clock of course. It has a 383 big block V-8 with a 2bbl carb., 727 auto trans., power steering, power soft top and four wheel nonpower drum brakes. The only rust through is at the bottom of the rear fenders/trunk area, and very little surface rust. The driver's door has been repaired at some point, the paint is a shade off and the body filler is evident. The rocker panels appear to have been repaired also, and some rust is bubbling under the paint. Soft top has been replaced, and has no holes and the rear window is clear. Interior is in good shape except for the armrests on the doors are broken, the front seat has some stitching coming apart, and the front carpet is worn through under where floor mats would be. Engine starts and runs good, though it has a slightly rough idle, a slight part throttle surge, and sometimes a possible noisy valve lifter. Trans shifts good. After a week, or so, of not being driven the trans takes longer than normal to engage D or R. There are some small leaks, but nothing as to where any fluids have to regularly added. The exhaust system has a pinhole leak. I do have maintenance records dating back to 1982, but probably not complete. Even with the small flaws I've listed, keep in mind this is a 42 year old unrestored car with normal wear and tear. It looks and drives better than a lot of cars one quarter of it's age, and you really couldn't ask more of it unless it had been in someone's private collection for the past three decades. This car would be a very easy restoration, or would continue to make a good driver. Since I haven't driven it more than probably 1000 miles over the past few years I would recommend the buyer trailer it home. If you have any questions, or would like more pictures just let me know, and thanks for looking!
