Vehicle Detail
Condition: This Snorunner is in good working condition. It starts and drives, all chains are free. Though there is visible rust, but it does not affect vehicle function. The recoil starter is not functioning, so I removed it and the flywheel cover. The vehicle can be easily started on 2-3 pulls by manually wrapping the pull cord. The kill switch was shorting out and killing engine at unwanted times, so I disconnected it, the engine can be killed with the choke lever. The track has one season on it (the reason for the rust is a tornado ripped the roof off my garage and it got rained on). Part of the drive chain/clutch cover is broken, but it does not affect vehicle function. The tank and fuel system, including the carburetor have all been cleaned and are spotless. I cleaned these the first weekend of November (2010) and had the engine and track running smoothly at that time. The brake and headlights are both functioning perfectly. The rear tail light does not work. I have never messed with that so it may be as simple as a bulb change. The muffler cover has been removed and the muffler itself was modified and is not in original condition. I am sure this modification does not affect stock power output. Features: I have added the following items to this vehicle. High performance (thinner) head gasket, a heavy duty driveshaft, new track (in 2009), the whole rear track assembly is new as of early November, as it broke last season, 15 tooth centrifugal clutch (slightly lower gearing for more pull) and the drive chain to accompany it, new drive shaft bearings (in 2009). New fuel lines, petcock and fuel pump cover (2010). All parts were purchased from Walt @ snorunner.com except the fuel pump cover, which was really hard to find for some reason. Eventually found it in a shop from Marion, IA called Rieken's Racing. The Snorunner itself will come with a box of parts and a full owners manual and service manual in an appropriately labeled binder (from Walt's). That alone is $50 new. The box of parts has the original 17 tooth centrifugal clutch and drive chain, and an additional chain for the 15 tooth clutch (broken). It includes the original track, the muffler cover, flywheel cover, some extra driveshaft bearings. The original driveshaft (not useable), an extra drive sprocket, some extra fuel line parts and full engine gasket replacement set, along with the original (thicker) head gasket. History of Ownership: I found this in a friend's parent's barn in 2000 and asked if I could buy it. The let me and I've had it since that time, 10 years roughly. Prior to that I have no idea how long it sat there or where they got it from, but it sounded as if they had enjoyed it when their kids were little, which would have put it in their possession sometime in the late 80's early 90's. The VIN is just the model and engine numbers. Shipping: Pick-up Only. I have also listed this locally and reserve the right to cancel the auction at any time. I have had a lot of fun with this thing and am torn about letting it go, but I've had it for 10 years and I just bought a minibike frame to mess with...need money for an absurdly large engine. Again, this thing is ready to ride right now, no work necessary. However, if you're looking to restore it to mint condition, it's going to take some work, but if you want this toy for less than what Walt is offering at Snorunner.com then this is the one for you! Having said all that, this is an old, used vehicle and it is being sold AS-IS. Starting bid price is $500 No Reserve. Thanks for looking!
