Vehicle Detail

You are bidding on a very original, un-restored, “survivor” 1938 Oldsmobile Touring Sedan. This is a low production pre-war car. Black with a camel colored interior. Suicide doors allows for easy access to the luxury rear seating 95-horsepower 230 cubic inch six cylinder engine with a 3 speed manual transmission and floor shifter There are approximately 8,500 miles showing on the odometer, which I think is the actual mileage. The vehicle was sold new to a school teacher in New Boston, NH and was garage kept and rarely driven. It was purchased at an estate sale by a New Hampshire fireman who then sold it to me. In support of the low mileage claim is that the car retains nearly all of its original service parts. For example, the following parts are all original GM date coded originals: l Starter l Generator l Coil l Water pump l Distributor l Voltage regulator l Radiator l Carburetor l Fuel pump l Glass As you know, most of these components had a very short lifespan. That so many of these original parts are still present and functional supports the low odometer reading. The car is still in the majority of the original paint, aside from the left front fender which has been repainted and now exhibits cracks in the lacquer. Car runs and drives extremely well and is very tight. However, the clutch pedal is high, and the car may need a new friction disc. Brakes are good, tires are newer reproduction wide whitewalls and all components work properly. It is a road worthy car that you can drive anywhere in confidence and comfort. In 1938, Oldsmobile was known for styling leadership and modern engineering. The 1938 Olds sported more prominent art-deco grills flanked by new catwalk trim in the inner fender aprons. This Oldsmobile has the most beautiful dashboard and steering wheel of any car I have seen. I regret letting it get away; but circumstances require that I sell it. If you really enjoy owning and looking at a magnificent and affordable example of automotive artwork, take this one home with you. Please let me know if you have any questions. Car can be seen in Southern NH, about an hour north of Boston.
