Thank you and good luck. ***** UP FOR AUCTION IS A DROP DEAD GORGEOUS 1968 FORD MUSTANG CONVERTIBLE GT TRIBUTE WITH MATCHING NUMBERS 289 V8 THAT RUNS/DRIVES BEAUTIFULLY AND YOU CAN HOP IN AN DRIVE ANYWHERE IN THE COUNTRY. VERY SHARP CRUISER THAT WILL BE A LOT OF FUN FOR COLLECTOR OR ENTHUSIAST. FACTORY OPTIONS: Power steering Power convertible top Manual brakes Standard black bucket seat interior 14" Vintage MAGNUM 500 wheels with running horse center caps Single exhaust C-code 289ci/200hp 2V motor Automatic C4 transmission ADDED GT EQUIPMENT (flip-down gas cap, amber fog lights, GT emblems and "C" side body stripe) Vehicle has 40k miles showing on the odometer. It is absolutely stock, with NO modifications at all other than some chrome in the engine bay, wood steering wheel and aftermarket center console with cupholders. Original #'s matching drivetrain. The car has had one older repaint that is holding up beautifully, with great shine and luster and great body lines. I had the convertible top replaced recently, and added the GT equipment, as well as the engine dress-up kit which makes the car really stand out and look great. Interior also received reupholstered front seats and new carpeting. Interior is in VERY GOOD condition with general wear here and there. Seats are nice with reupholstered front bottom sections. Door panels are good with some warping. Carpet is NEW. Dash pad is nice (has one of those "caps" over original dash). Convertible top is only 2 months old with new plastic window. Overall a very presentable driver quality interior! Under the hood lies the correct C-code 289ci/200hp 2v motor with original intake, manifolds, carburetor, etc, driven by a stock C4 automatic transmission and stock rear end. Starts easily and sounds great with a nice and quiet idle. Good stock power overall and brakes stop WELL. Nice and solid throughout. Steering is nice and nimble, perhaps a little too soft. Very fun to drive and you can hop in and drive it wherever you like. It's never left me stranded and always starts up nicely. I've driven it mostly around town here and there and every once in a while on the highway on the way to a cruise night or local show. I would suggest having it gone through before going on a cross-country trip, just to be safe. Being an old car, it is NOT perfect by any means. Paint shines up EXCELLENT with good luster for a high-end driver. Some minor general wear as you would expect from driving. Not working: fog lights (not connected), horn works but needs minor adjustment, perhaps a bulb or two could use replacing. Underside has had patched floorboards and torque boxes, which look presentable but should be redone for show quality. Shock towers look pretty good. Frame rails are solid, with the front ones having had some prior welding work for support. Couple of minor leaks. Inside of the hood has some rust holes which I forgot to take care of. Passenger door jamb where rocker meets rear quarter has some rust and a few pinholes there and should be repainted. Could use new valve cover gaskets. That's about all I was able to notice from my inspection. I am sure there are other tiny details i've forgotten so please keep that in mind, this is NOT a brand new car obviously. It basically needs a good deal of finishing touches and tinkering to get it just the way you like it, depending on what you want to do with it. OVERALL IT'S A BEAUTIFUL TURN-KEY CRUISER THAT YOU CAN HOP IN AND DRIVE RIGHT NOW. THIS 1968 FORD MUSTANG CONVERTIBLE GT TRIBUTE SHOWS BEAUTIFULLY AND DRIVES SUPER NICE. 40K MILES ON THE ODOMETER! ENJOY IT WITH THE TOP DOWN. Contact me at (917) 749-4302 cell or e-mail MBOTERASHV@AOL.COM. Auction may be stopped at any time.
