2008 BMW R-Series

Re-listing with a lower reserve...because the vintage bike I want to buy is back on ebay. One more chance for folks to buy a great bike at almost half the price of new. It has a few more miles on it. Assume 4,400-4,500 in case I ride it this weekend. I have clear title in hand if there is a no-nonsense buyer out there that will pay a fair price. This bike has a nick or two on the carbon fiber belly pan...but that is unavoidable if you ride. You would have to get on the ground to find an imperfection on this machine. It has never had less than 5 coats of wax on it. I take great care of my bikes. Used 2008 HP2 Sport. Excellent shape. I’m the first and only owner, bought new from Max BWW. The initial service was performed by them. Absolutely no issues. I have a large collection and have my eyes on another vintage bike. If I get a decent price for this I will add to my vintage stable. Approximately 4,200 miles. Non ABS model. Never down or mistreated - or ridden in the rain. If you are looking for this bike you know the profile – it looks handmade and the ~135hp is all you need for the street in my humble opinion. I reserve the right to end the auction and reject bids from people with poor feedback. I don’t need to sell the bike, but the reserve, which will not be disclosed, is reasonable. I recognize that bikes – especially expensive ones – depreciate significantly. I’m just trying to see if there is a credible buyer as I look at adding another vintage machine. If you inspect bike and decide against proceeding no issue. Absolutely no disappointments. Once you ride it or take it, however, the deal is final. Certified funds only. I hadn't received notice but confirmed with the dealer that it should be done, but not a big deal and could be done at the 6k service. The bike currently has 4300 miles. I just want to mention this for everyone's benefit On Nov-13-10 at 11:49:15 PST, seller added the following information: I've added some photos to show the few imperfections. There is a blemish on the right side of the tank/fairing toward the bottom. The biggest imperfection is right behind the front wheel, where it looks like the clear coat is chipped away. The blemishes on the belly plan are so small I don't think they would show in the pictures. I've also shown the rear tire to highlight the wear. The bike has 4,405 miles. The next service is 6,000 miles, but there is a cam sensor recall as noted that could be fixed earlier. When that is fixed the fork seals should also be checked - there is some grime on them. It may be normal but worth checking the seals at the next service. Again, the bike is under warranty through July of 2011. Between the description and the photos you should have an accurate view of the bike. The bike was waxed after virtually every ride. I treated it as well as possible. Still, it was ridden the 4,400 miles, and anyone unsatisfied after inspection can walk. No disappointments. The reserve has been lowered for this final auction. The bike will not be released until funds clear - even a bank check can take 24-48 hours.
