Vehicle Detail
I spent last winter/spring getting this bike ready to do a road trip down the Blue Ridge Parkway this summer. There were 4 of these bikes on this trip and we had a blast riding these bikes. I will try to remember everything I have done to the bike in preparation for the trip. The bike has about 8500 miles on it and it rides/runs very well. All listed parts are genuine OEM Suzuki parts unless noted otherwise. New brakes front and rear - the front are aftermarket VesrahForks seals and fluid changeNew Avon tires and tubes and rim stripsBrake fluid flushBrake caliper rebuildNew shift shaft sealNew clutch pushrod seal3 new carb belows and 1 elbow rubber (the other 2 elbows are in good shape)New gas gap gasketNew petcock lever gasketPetcock converted to mechanical - the prime is now off, reserve is reserve and on is onAir filters are custom made UNI filters on original cagesNew oil tank cap and gasketNew brake light switchNew 530 heavy duty RK chainNew sprockets - not sure brand of rear but front is Suzuki OEMNew battery this spring - roadrunner brand I think Condition of the bike:The bike is very original with low miles and wear. The seat does have a split on the seam that I have stitched with Nylon thread. It has held up for the last 1000 miles but this is temporary, it won't last forever.Original grips are cool but not the most comfortableGauges are cloudy like so many of theseI am missing the right side mirror - the right side is the original Suzuki stamped mirrorI have been looking for spoke type wheel weights with no luck. I have taped weight to the rear rim to balance the wheel. I would rather not use the stick on type weightAll cables are nice and operate smooth. There is a very small top end noise. If you did not know any better you would not notice but it is there. This bike will run forever without addressing thisThere is a small crease/dent on the right side of the tank about the Suzuki emblem. I tried to capture it in the pictures. The paint has a nice patina to it. A few chips on the tank but it is not excessively faded. There is some missing paint on the sidecovers, the silver paint seems to just flake off for some reason. The sidecover badges are original orange metallic paint not reproduction badges.Gas tank is very clean, I do have a paper type filter installed. There is some pitting in the chrome on the rear rim (pictured). The pipes and fenders are pretty nice, not perfect. I will try to get some close up pics posted this weekend. You will notice the front signals are slightly tweaked. No damage to signal but it has fallen over on the left side. It will straighten out but I have not gotten to it yet. I get about 33-35 MPG for a 100 mile range and comfortably cruise at 60-65 MPH. This bike needs nothing to be a rider. I ride it regularly. I do have a small reserve set on the auction but I don't think you could by a non-runner and make it as nice as this one for less than my reserve. It's getting a little late in the season but this bike is Fly-n-Ride ready. Buy it, fly here, and then ride it home. I would not hesitate jumping on this tomorrow to go anywhere. I am selling this bike to move on to another project of mine. If only I had more room... I can get this bike to Davenport, Iowa fairly easy for a small fee. I would rather not build a crate but I can work with you and your shipper or Forward Air. Please ask any questions. I can store the bike for a reasonable period of time after the auction ends as long as it is paid for. I have tried to describe and disclose everything I know about this bike. Bid with confidence. If you see the bike and it's not as I have described I will give you a full refund, no questions asked (pickup only). On Nov-14-10 at 18:30:44 PST, seller added the following information: Here are a few more pics. I tried to capture the dent on the right side of the tank but it is hard to photograph. The rear spokes are covered in oil, not rust.
