Vehicle Detail
2000 VOLVO C70 CONVERTIBLE WITH NO RESERVE! this is a southern car with only 130,000 miles and NO RUST, it has a great body. there are a couple of VERY minor dings and one dent. the dent is on the top of the passenger door about in the middle. the big thing with this car is it needs some motor work. i don`t really know whats wrong other than its VERY noisy when you crank it. i bought it that way from the shop where the owner had taken it. from what i understand she just did not want to deal with it. she paid $11,500 for it when she bought it. the shop owner said it needs a new motor but i don`t really know what he is basing that on, maybe making his checking account a bit fatter. its only got 130,000 miles on it which is nothing for a volvo. i`ve had these same motors go well over 200,000 with no trouble at all. there is no water in the oil and the oil is nice and clean and up to level. water looks good also. its a code 56 motor and i recently bought one here on ebay for $850 for my 2000 XC 70 wagon which is my daily driver. to be honest i only bought this convertible because it was there, not because i was looking for a convertible. i was there and it was one of those "oh heck i might as well just get it" kind of things. in any event i am just way too slammed with work and kids and a yard thats too big ( i hate yard work) to ever get time to get this thing done. and even if i did how do i get five of us in it? a volvo is a hard car to beat for daily driving and i`m on my third wagon, so i`m going to stick to that. my loss your gain, but heck, it was a nice idea at the time. but having said that it really is a nice looking car, classy not flashy. its a very nice dark green metallic and looks like a class act. the black canvass top is nice and tight and it has a full leather interior with a good back seat area, the drivers seat leather is cracking but no splits or tears. one seam is starting to come unpicked. the whole interior would benefit greatly from a good cleaning as the car has been sitting for almost two months. there are some small trim items that need attention but for the most part its all up together. the wood veneer by the shifter is cracking pretty bad. the drivers door mounted switch for the trunk and gas release works but is kinda lose. the lights in the top of the windshield header are the same way. there is some kind plastic gromit thing in the passenger door jamb thats broken, its in the glove box. all the factory books are in there also. the car has power everything along with ROPS and SIPS. and it has power heated memory seats, a very nice thing to have. all the glass is excellent and all the windows work great except the right rear which needs help, not sure whats wrong but it might just need a really good greasing. don`t we all. it has a six disc changer with the magazine in the dash which seems like a great idea, the dash pad is excellent. there are a couple of little scuff`s here and there but hey, its almost ten years old. the last bidder standing will own this car and if you want it delivered my buddy might be able to do it cheap depending on where you are. clean title in hand. any questions just email me at crewechopper@aol.com and i will get back to you. so just to clarify. this is a good solid straight car that needs motor work and you won`t be driving it home. i don`t know what it would take to fix the motor but it would probably be easier and cheaper to just drop a good used motor in like i did with my wagon, which is still going like a freight train with almost 200,000 on her now. yep, i`m sticking to the wagon. so good luck to you all and the last bidder wins this cool classy car!
