Vehicle Detail
This my very rare Buick Century with the 4.3L Diesel engine. Get this for way less than you might pay for a Mercedes Diesel! I'm selling it with NO RESERVE. This car runs and drives absolutely great. It has been a daily driver for the past few years, and it runs like a top. This car is totally reliable and has no known mechanical issues or problems. I would trust this car to drive anywhere. GM made several diesel motors during the late 70s and early 80s- GM put their diesels into Oldsmobile, Cadillac, Chevy and Buick cars. This LATE MODEL 4.3L Diesel was one of the last ones made and might have been the best of all. These have proven to be reliable and fuel-efficient, but the early diesel motors were so bad that by the time this one came out, people's minds were already made up. Too bad because this is a great motor and a great car. This car starts and drives great; it doesn't smoke or burn oil and it shifts through all the gears perfectly. Again, I'd trust it to drive anywhere. I'll make two lists, what is good, and what is bad, about the car. GOOD- Drives great, totally reliable, daily driver motor smooth and powerful, no smoke or hesitation transmission shifts properly through all gears brakes and suspension tight and good steering good tires decent, with useable tread remaining heat works great good power and acceleration interior is NEARLY PERFECT- please view the photos- there are no rips or tears, this interior is immaculate great fuel economy never overheats, hesitates or gives any sign of mechanical trouble trustworthy for a long drive anywhere includes original books and manuals BAD- front grill is cracked, front bumper bent, etc. Heck the whole exterior could only be described as "rough" rust- along bottoms of doors, wheel arches, etc slight fuel leak from rear of car (not excessive but you notice if its parked in the garage for a long time) glow plugs may not be working- I notice it takes a few cranks to start in very cold weather, I'm sure someone could troubleshoot the glowplugs pretty easily/cheaply. Once the motor is warmed up it starts up instantly and purrs like a kitten headliner sagging down a bit radio plays fine but the display doesn't work Overall this is no show car or Maserati to take on a first date! This is a rare but very useful and dependable car that is easy to work on. This car will run on whatever combination of diesel fuel, waste veggie oil (WVO) or biodiesel you feel like using. The 4.3L diesel is a great motor, which is evidenced by the fact that is still runs perfectly. Get this one for a lot less than comparable Mercedes 300D or BMW 524td, etc diesels go for. This car is stored indoors, in my garage. Interested bidders are welcome to come drive the car before bidding. If you have questions, email me or call me at 440 339 4341.
